Felisitus Kwangwa
Felisitus Kwangwa also spelled as Felistus Kwangwa (born 9 March 1995) is a Zimbabwean netball player and current captain of the Zimbabwe national team who plays in the position of goal defense. Kwangwa plies her trade in the United Kingdom for Vitality Netball Superleague club Surrey Storm. She was a member of the Zimbabwean squad which finished eighth during the 2019 Netball World Cup, which was historically Zimbabwe's first ever appearance at a Netball World Cup tournament. She also served as the vice captain of the team during the 2019 Netball World Cup. Bulawayo
Bulawayo (, ; Ndebele: ''Bulawayo'') is the second largest city in Zimbabwe, and the largest city in the country's Matabeleland region. The city's population is disputed; the 2022 census listed it at 665,940, while the Bulawayo City Council claimed it to be about 1.2 million. Netball Superleague
The Netball Super League is a top level netball league featuring teams from the United Kingdom. The league is organised by England Netball but features teams based in England, Wales and Scotland. The league was commenced playing at the 2005–06 season, replacing the Super Cup as the elite netball competition in England. Since 2016 the league has been sponsored by VitalityHealth and, as a result, it is also known as the Vitality Netball Superleague. Historically the league's most successful teams are Team Bath, who have won five titles, and the Mavericks, who have played in seven grand finals. Surrey Storm
Surrey Storm is an English netball team based at the University of Surrey. Their senior team plays in the Netball Superleague. Between 2001 and 2005 they played in the Super Cup as London Hurricanes. After forming a partnership with Brunel University London, they became the Brunel Hurricanes. In 2005–06 they were founder members of the new Netball Superleague. Before the 2009–10 Netball Superleague season, they ended their partnership with Brunel University, relocated to the University of Surrey and became Surrey Storm. 2019 Netball World Cup
The 2019 Netball World Cup (also known as the 2019 Vitality Netball World Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 15th edition of the INF Netball World Cup. It was held from 12–21 July 2019 at the Liverpool Arena in Liverpool, England with matches being held on two courts. Host nation England finished their campaign with a bronze medal. New Zealand became 5th time champions after beating Australia in the final and gold medal match. Sixteen nations contested for the title, which included the top six of the previous tournament which was held in Sydney, Australia. After two group stage rounds, Australia, England, New Zealand and South Africa all made it to the semi-finals. The Netball World Cup is a quadrennial international netball world championship organised by the World Netball, inaugurated in 1963. Perpetua Siyachitema (born 15 May 1983) is a former Zimbabwean veteran netball player and captain of the Zimbabwe national team. She had played for Zimbabwe in international arena for 15 years and announced her retirement post the 2019 Netball World Cup. On 25 July 2019, she announced her retirement from international netball at the age of 36 to pursue her coaching career. She is known for her efforts to help Zimbabwe qualify at the Netball World Cup for the first time in 2019. Career Perpetua started playing the sport of netball from sixteen years of age and made her international debut for Zimbabwe at the age of 19. 2019 African Netball Championships
The 2019 African Netball Championships was held in Cape Town from 18-23 October 2019. The tournament featured seven nations including hosts South Africa, defending champions Uganda along with Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, Lesotho and Zimbabwe in 2 pool categories. Tanzania pulled out of the tournament due to financial issues, just a day before the tournament opener against Zimbabwe. The tournament was originally supposed to have its scheduled opening match between defending champions Uganda and Zimbabwe but was called off due to the last minute withdrawal by Tanzania. The authorities later revealed that the match between hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe to be the opening match of the tournament while the tournament was later modified with round robin format.
