The Federal Correctional Institution, Lompoc (FCI Lompoc) is a low-security United States federal prison for male inmates in Lompoc, California. It is part of the Lompoc Federal Correctional Complex (FCC Lompoc) and is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice. FCC Lompoc is located within the city of Lompoc, northwest of Los Angeles, adjacent to Vandenberg Space Force Base. The complex also includes a U.S. Penitentiary and a minimum-security prison camp. Facility The average offender at FCI Lompoc is serving between one and fifteen years for federal drug and or other non-violent offenses. Lompoc ( ; Chumash: ''Lum Poc'') is a city in Santa Barbara County, California. Located on the Central Coast, Lompoc has a population of 43,834 as of July 2021. Lompoc has been inhabited for thousands of years by the Chumash people, who called the area Lum Poc, meaning "stagnant waters" or "lagoon" in the local Purisimeño language. The Spanish called the area Lompoco after Fermín de Lasuén had established Mission La Purísima in 1787. In 1837, the Mexican government sold the area as the Rancho Lompoc land grant. Jimmy Snowden
Jimmy Snowden (September 21, 1933 – July 7, 2008), of Lauderdale County, Mississippi, was a conspirator and participant in the notorious murders of Chaney, Goodman, and Schwerner in Philadelphia, Mississippi in 1964. He was a member of the White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and was sentenced in 1967 by federal district judge William Cox to three years for his role in the crime. Jimmy Snowden had lived in Hickory, Mississippi. Ghost Cattle Fraud
The "ghost cattle" or "ghost herd" fraud was a scheme perpetrated by Cody Easterday, a rancher in Mesa, Washington, to charge Tyson Foods for more than 200,000 cattle that did not exist. From 2016 until 2020, when Tyson discovered the missing cattle, Easterday submitted invoices totalling more than $200 million. Easterday confessed to the deception in November, 2020, and later pled guilty to one count of wire fraud. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison on October 4, 2022, and ordered to pay $244 million in restitution. Chi Mak (; born 28 September 1940) was a Chinese-born naturalized American citizen who worked as an engineer for California-based defense contractor Power Paragon, a part of L-3 Communications.
