Feanwâlden Railway Station
Feanwâlden is a railway station located in Feanwâlden, Netherlands. The station was opened on 1 June 1866 and is located on the Harlingen–Nieuweschans railway between Leeuwarden and Groningen. Train services are operated by Arriva. The station was called Veenwouden (the Dutch name for the village) until 12 December 2015 when it was renamed ''Feanwâlden''. This is to reflect the Frisian name of the town, which was changed in 2009. Harlingen–Nieuweschans Railway
The Harlingen–Nieuweschans railway is a railway line in the Netherlands running from the port of Harlingen to Bad Nieuweschans, passing through Leeuwarden and Groningen. The line was opened between 1863 and 1868. It is also known as the ''Staatslijn'' "B". At Bad Nieuweschans, a connection with the German railway network is provided through the Ihrhove–Nieuweschans railway. History The Frisian Port of Harlingen was meant to be a segment in an international transport-chain between Great Britain and Eurasia. Rail transport (also known as train transport) is a means of transport that transfers passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are incorporated in tracks. Feanwâlden
Feanwâlden ( nl, Veenwouden) is a village in the Dantumadiel municipality of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 3,430 in 2014. Together with the village of Feanwâldsterwâl, a former hamlet of Feanwâlden, it has a village interest association group under the name: ''Vereniging van Dorpsbelangen Veenwouden / Veenwoudsterwal e.o.''. History Feanwâlden originated from two small villages, Sint-Johanneswâld and Eslawâld. The first was near the Skierstins while the second place was a mile further southwest. Sint-Johanneswâld was mentioned in 1439 as ''Sunte Johannis walde'' and 1450 as ''Sunte Johanneswald''. Eslawâld was mentioned in 1450 as ''Essalawald''. In 1421 there is also mention of ''Lillingwald'', possibly also referring to Eslawâld, as in a shortened version of ''es(se)lingawald'' but may also be a third and later disappeared place in the area at the southern edge of a vast peatland. Leeuwarden Railway Station
Leeuwarden railway station is the main railway station in Leeuwarden in Friesland, Netherlands. The station, which opened on 27 October 1863, is on the Arnhem–Leeuwarden railway, the Harlingen–Nieuweschans railway and the Leeuwarden–Stavoren railway. Leeuwarden was also the terminus of the North Friesland Railway which served Anjum and Harlingen via Stiens. Behind the station is a stabling point for many trains. Groningen railway station (; abbreviation: Gn), locally called ''Hoofdstation'' (main station), is the main railway station in Groningen in the Province of Groningen, Netherlands. It is located on the Harlingen–Nieuweschans railway between Zuidhorn and Groningen Europapark, on the Meppel–Groningen railway as terminus after Groningen Europapark, and on the Groningen–Delfzijl railway as terminus after Groningen Noord.
