Farhad Aghazade
Farhad Aghazade ( az, Fərhad Rəhim oğlu Ağazadə) (12 August 1880, in Shusha, Russian Empire – 4 January 1931 in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR, USSR) was Azerbaijani teacher, linguist, journalist. Life Farhad Agazade graduated from the Transcaucasian Teachers Seminary (1900), was engaged in teaching activities in Baku, Shusha, Ganja and Khachmas. For a long time he maintained friendly and creative relations with Uzeyir Hajibeyov. He participated in cultural and educational events of the Baku Muslim Educational Society "Nijat", actively collaborated with Uzeyir Hajibeyov in the newspapers " Hayat", "Irshad", as well as in the preparation of school programs and textbooks. Uzeyir Hajibeyov published in the newspaper "Taraggi" a review of Agazade's textbook "Second Year" (1907), compiled by him together with several teachers. Hasan bey Zardabi ( az, Həsən bəy Zərdabi ), born Hasan bey Salim bey oghlu Malikov ( az, Həsən bəy Səlim bəy oğlu Məlikov, links=no ; 28 June 1842 — 15 November 1907), was an Azerbaijani journalist and intellectual, founder of the first Azerbaijani language newspaper '' Akinchi'' ("The Ploughman") in 1875. Early life Zardabi was born in Zardab, then a small village on the Kura River to the west of Baku. He had studied in the Russian school in the city of Shamakhi and later (after receiving a government scholarship) in Tiflis before being admitted to the department of mathematics and physics at Moscow University in the 1860s (his relative Lieutenant general Faraj bey Aghayev helped him get an education). Khachmaz ( az, Xaçmaz) is a town in the Khachmaz District of Azerbaijan. Etymology Modern historians believe that the name Khachmaz derives from ''Khachmataki'' tribe of Huns, which transformed into ''Khacmaz'' in the middle of 7th century. History The Transcaucasian Teachers Seminary was founded as a specialized educational institution for the peoples of the Caucasus, who were interested in pursuing teaching careers at regional primary schools.
