''Family Catchphrase'' was a family game show broadcast on Challenge (TV channel), The Family Channel. Presented by Andrew O'Connor (actor), Andrew O'Connor, it was a spin-off of the popular UK Prime-time television, prime-time game show ''Catchphrase (UK game show), Catchphrase''. History A one-off edition of ''Family Catchphrase'' was made by TVS in 1992 & broadcast on ITV on 1 January 1994, hosted by regular ''Catchphrase'' presenter Roy Walker (comedian), Roy Walker, in which teams of family would play ''Catchphrase''. Roy Walker (comedian)
Robert "Roy" Walker (born 31 July 1940) is a Northern Irish television personality and comedian, who worked for many years as both a television presenter and comedy actor. He is best known as the original host of the game show ''Catchphrase'' between 1986 and 1999, and as one of the stars of the comedy showcase '' The Comedians''. Early life Born in Belfast, as a teenager Walker performed in the Francis Longford Choir, then worked as a riveter in the Harland and Wolff shipyard. He was the Ireland champion hammer thrower for three years, and represented them internationally. He spent a short time as a comedy partner of James Young before serving seven years in the British Army. Walker first started work aged 12. By the end of the 1960s, he was running a pawn shop whilst working in the evenings as the compère at the Talk of the Town club in Belfast. Simon Marc Amstell (born 29 November 1979) is a British comedian, writer and director. He wrote and directed the films '' Carnage'' (2017) and ''Benjamin'' (2018). Sega Master System
The is an 8-bit third-generation home video game console manufactured by Sega. ''Catchphrase'' is a British game show based on the short-lived American game show of the same name. It originally aired on ITV in the United Kingdom between 12 January 1986 and 23 April 2004. A currently running revival premiered on ITV on 7 April 2013. ''Catchphrase'' was presented by Northern Irish comedian Roy Walker from its 1986 premiere until 1999, airing weekly at night. Nick Weir took the programme over in 2000 and hosted it until the end of series 16 on 23 April 2004.
