''Faithfull Forever'' is a studio album by British singer Marianne Faithfull. It was released only in the United States. "Some Other Spring", "Lucky Girl" and "I'm the Sky" are unique to this album. The rest of the songs had been released as singles or would later be released on '' Love in a Mist'', although the version of "Counting" is a different mix from its European release, and "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," with choral overdubs, differs significantly from the one on '' North Country Maid''. Mike Leander was the arranger; Gus Dudgeon and Vic Smith were the engineers and Jean-Marie Perrier for the photography. ''The Umbrellas of Cherbourg'' (french: Les Parapluies de Cherbourg) is a 1964 musical romantic drama film written and directed by Jacques Demy, with music and lyrics by Michel Legrand. Catherine Deneuve and Nino Castelnuovo star as two young lovers in the French city of Cherbourg, separated by circumstance. The film's dialogue is entirely sung as recitative, including casual conversation, and is sung-through, or through-composed, like some operas and stage musicals. It has been seen as the middle part of an informal "romantic trilogy" of Demy films that share some of the same actors, characters, and overall look, coming after ''Lola'' (1961) and before ''The Young Girls of Rochefort'' (1967). Stephen Joshua Sondheim (; March 22, 1930November 26, 2021) was an American composer and lyricist. Les Reed (songwriter)
Leslie David Reed (24 July 1935 – 15 April 2019) was an English songwriter, arranger, musician and light-orchestra leader. His major songwriting partners were Gordon Mills, Barry Mason, and Geoff Stephens, although he wrote songs with many others such as Roger Greenaway, Roger Cook, Peter Callander, and Johnny Worth. Reed co-wrote around sixty charting songs, and is best known for "It's Not Unusual", "Delilah", "The Last Waltz" and " Marching On Together". His songs gained a number of gold discs and Ivor Novello Awards. Allmusic noted that "In the mid-1960s, it was unusual for a British singles chart not to list a Les Reed song". John Barry Mason (12 July 1935 – 16 April 2021) was an English singer and songwriter. A leading songwriter of the 1960s, he wrote the bulk of his most successful songs in partnership with Les Reed. Mason gained many gold and platinum awards for his work including five Ivor Novello Awards, the most recent of them in 1998. Life and career Mason was born in Wigan, eldest son of Phyllis née Hart, and journalist, Cecil Mason, who died when Barry was nine. Irene Armstrong Wilson Kitchings (c. 1908-1975) was an African-American jazz pianist, band leader, and songwriter. She performed both as a solo act and as a band member. After transitioning to songwriting, Kitchings co-wrote "Some Other Spring", "Ghost of Yesterday", and "I'm Pulling Through", all of which were recorded by Billie Holiday. Life and career Irene Kitchings was born Irene Armstrong in Marietta, Ohio. She moved to Detroit at age 13 to live with an aunt. Her mother taught her to play piano as a child. By age 18, Kitchings was living in Chicago and performing in jazz clubs as a solo jazz pianist and with various bands. She sometimes used the stage name Irene Armstrong Edie. John Edmund Andrew Phillips (August 30, 1935 – March 18, 2001) was an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He was the leader of the vocal group the Mamas & the Papas and remains frequently referred to as Papa John Phillips.
