FK Utenis Utena is a professional football club, based in Utena, Lithuania. The club plays its home matches at the Utenis Stadium (capacity 3,000). In 2020, FK Utenis Utena will participate in the II Lyga. As due to financial difficulties in 2019 the shareholders voted to withdraw from participation in the I Lyga. Utenos Alus
The Utenos Alus Brewery is a Lithuanian brewery headquartered in Utena, Lithuania. The Brewery is based near the Aukštaitija National Park. It is currently considered one of the Carlsberg Group breweries in Europe. In addition to making beer for Lithuanian consumers, it also makes products for international brands located in Scandinavia and northern Europe. History In 1970, the decision was made to construct the most cutting-edge brewery in the area. Because of its pristine surroundings and plentiful supplies of water that are suited for brewing beer, Kloviniai in Utena was chosen as the brewery's location. Gediminas Jackeviius oversaw the building of the "Beer Complex of Utena," and he later became the brewery's first manager, serving in that capacity until his passing in 1993. The 2018 Lithuanian Football Cup, also known as LFF Cup, was the seventy-third season of the Lithuanian annual football knock-out tournament. Forty-eight teams entered the competitions, which started on 27 April and ended on 30 September. The winners qualify for the 2019–20 UEFA Europa League. Stumbras were the defending champions. 2017 A Lyga
The 2017 A Lyga was the 28th season of the A Lyga, the top-tier association football league of Lithuania. The season began on 3 March 2017 and ended on 19 November 2017. All eight teams from the previous season remained and competed in the league, while Žalgiris Vilnius began the season as defending champions having won fourth consecutive league title last year. The 2016 A Lyga, also known as ''SMSCredit.lt A Lyga'' for sponsoring purposes was the 27th season of the A Lyga, the top-tier association football league of Lithuania. The season began on 2 March and ended on 26 November 2016. Žalgiris Vilnius were the defending champions. Teams FK Šiauliai failed to obtain a license to play in the A Lyga and were relegated alongside FK Kruoja, which withdrew and FK Klaipedos Granitas, which was disqualified. They were replaced by FK Lietava Jonava, which will make its debut at the top level. FK Spyris Kaunas changed its name to FK Kauno Žalgiris. A Lyga
The A Lyga is the top division of professional football in Lithuania. The A Lyga is an abbreviation of Aukščiausia lyga meaning Highest League. It is organized by Lithuanian Football Federation LFF ( lt, Lietuvos Futbolo Federacija). The Aukščiausia lyga also existed during the Soviet period of Lithuania, but was not considered to be a professional league until dissolution of the Soviet Union. The league size has varied between 8 and 12 teams in the recent seasons, however 2020 A Lyga the league featured record low of only 6 teams. But in the latest 2021 A Lyga season there were 10 teams. The final list of participants often does not correlate to the final results of the previous season, as the participation is finalized through the Lithuanian Football Federation league licensing process.
