FC Ismaning
FC Ismaning is a German association football club based in Ismaning by Munich, Bavaria. History The 700 member club was founded in March 1921 and played in lower-tier competition until the mid-90s when the footballers advanced for the first time to the Landesliga Bayern-Süd (V). Ismaning enjoyed its most successful season to date in 1999–2000 when it took the Landesliga title to move up to the Oberliga Bayern (IV) and also captured the Bavarian Cup. The regional cup win led to the side's participation in the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) tournament where it was put out by Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund (0–4) in the first round. The team has played in the fourth tier for seven seasons and earned three consecutive third-place results from 2003–2005. After this, the club's fortunes took a dive with a 14th-place finish in 2006–07, when relegation was narrowly avoided. Bayernliga
The Bayernliga (English: Bavarian league) is the highest amateur football league and the second highest football league (under the Regionalliga Bayern) in the state of Bavaria (german: Bayern) and the Bavarian football league system. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football, the fifth tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fourth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the third tier. From the 2012–13 season onwards, the league has been divided once more into a northern and a southern division, having previously placed in single division format since 1963. 2000 Bavarian Cup
The 2000 Bavarian Cup was the third edition of the competition which started in 1998. It ended with the FC Ismaning winning the competition. Together with finalist TSV Rain am Lech, both clubs qualified for the DFB Cup 2000-01. The competition is open to all senior men's football teams playing within the Bavarian football league system and the Bavarian clubs in the Regionalliga Süd (III). Rules & History The seven Bezirke in Bavaria each play their own cup competition, which in turn used to function as a qualifying to the German Cup (DFB-Pokal). In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in the lower division are ''promoted'' to the higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season. In some leagues, playoffs or qualifying rounds are also used to determine rankings. The Regionalliga () is the fourth tier in the German football league system. Until 1974, it was the second tier in Germany. In 1994, it was introduced as the third tier. The Landesliga Bayern sits at step 6 of the German football league system and is the third highest level in the Bavarian football league system, below the Bayernliga and organised in five regional divisions. The seven Bezirksoberligas Bayern were the third highest level of the Bavarian football league system, below the Bayernliga and the Landesliga Bayern from 1988 to 2012. They were the seventh tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the sixth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the fifth tier. 2012–13 Regionalliga
The 2012–13 Regionalliga was the fifth season of the Regionalliga as the fourth tier of the German football league system. From this season onwards, the structure of this tier has changed. The three division format administrated by the German FA has been replaced by five leagues, each of which is administrated by its respective regional FA. Additionally, the leagues will be structured on geographical affiliation, in contrast to the partially arbitrary divisional alignment. League champions will qualify for a promotion play-off.
