SpVgg Bayreuth
SpVgg Bayreuth is a German football club based in Bayreuth, Bavaria. Apart from coming within two games of earning promotion to the Bundesliga in 1979, the club also reached the quarter finals of the DFB-Pokal twice, in 1977 and 1980. History 1921 to 1945 Founded in 1921 when the side left gymnastics oriented sport club TuSpo Bayreuth, SpVgg Bayreuth was one of many clubs banned and replaced with a state-sanctioned organization in 1933 during the Nazi campaign against existing sports and other social organizations. A handful of club members reformed a rump side called FSV Bayreuth to carry on the activities of the original association. This team was made up largely of soldiers stationed locally, which resulted in a constantly changing lineup as they were transferred in and out of the area. Hans-Walter-Wild-Stadion
The Hans-Walter-Wild-Stadion is a multi-purpose stadium in Bayreuth, Germany. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of SpVgg Bayreuth. The stadium is able to hold 21,500 people. The stadium opened in 1967 and was named after then-mayor Hans Walter Wild, who was the city's longest-serving Lord Mayor (Oberbürgermeister), serving a total of 30 years from 1958 to 1988. Markus Ziereis (born 26 August 1992) is a German professional footballer who plays as a forward for SpVgg Bayreuth. Club career Ziereis began his career with TSV 1860 Munich and made his 2. Bundesliga debut for the club in November 2012, as a half-time substitute for Sebastian Maier in a 2–2 draw with 1. FC Union Berlin. In 2013, he joined FSV Frankfurt. Daniel Steininger (born 13 April 1995) is a German professional footballer who plays for TSV Steinbach Haiger. He played for the youth teams of DJK Sonnen, FC Sturm Hauzenberg, 1. FC Passau, SpVgg Grün-Weiß Deggendorf, and Greuther Fürth. Club career Steininger came to SpVgg Greuther Fürth in 2010 after having played for DJK Sonnen, Sturm Hauzenberg, 1.
