Ezinne Kalu
Ezinne Kalu (born 26 June 1992) is a Nigerian-American basketball player for Landerneau Bretagne Basket and the Nigerian national team. In the 2017, 2019 and 2021 Afrobasket events, She represented D'Tigress, Africa's highest-ranked side and won three straight championship for them. She was named 2019 Women's Afrobasket Most Valuable Player (MVP). Early life She was born in Newark, New Jersey to Gwendolyn Covington and Joseph Kalu. Her mother was born and raised in Greenville, SC. Her father is Nigerian. Kalu attended Science Park High School in Newark, New Jersey. She was the first woman in the school's history to score over 2,000 points. Her jersey was retired in December 2017. After graduating in 2010, Kalu received a full scholarship to HBCU Savannah State University in Savannah, GA. There her team won their first MEAC Championship in 2015. 2021 Women's Afrobasket
The 2021 AfroBasket Women was the 25th edition of the tournament and held from 18 to 26 September 2021 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The top two teams qualified for one of the qualifying tournaments for the 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. Nigerian National Basketball Team
The Nigeria national basketball team represents Nigeria in men's international basketball and it is overseen by the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF). In March 2021, the global governing body FIBA ranked Nigeria as Africa's top men's basketball nation. After the 2016 Olympic Men's Basketball Tournament in Rio, Nigeria was ranked 16th in the FIBA World Rankings, making them the top climber in FIBA rankings from 2015. 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup
The 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, the 18th edition of FIBA's premier international tournament for women's national basketball teams, was held in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain from 22 to 30 September 2018. This was the first edition to use the name of ''FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup''. After the last edition in 2014, FIBA changed the name of the competition from the ''FIBA World Championship for Women'', in order to align its name with that of the corresponding men's competition. AFA Sports is a Nigerian company that is engaged in the design, development, manufacturing, marketing and sales of athletic and leisure footwear, apparel and accessories. Landerneau Bretagne Basket
Landerneau (; br, Landerne, ) is a commune in the Finistère department of Brittany in north-western France. It lies at the mouth of the Elorn River which divides the Breton provinces of Cornouaille and Léon, east of Brest. The name is from Lan Terneo and can mean "(religious) enclosure of St Ténénan ()": allegedly a Welshman who also had in the Vale of Clwyd in North Wales and in Somerset, and who moved to Brittany in the 7th century.
