Ezequiel Montero
Ezequiel Montero Román (22 February 1893 – 17 April 1972) was a Spanish footballer, referee and manager in Spain at the beginning of the 20th century. As a player, he helped the Madrid national team win two Prince of Asturias Cups in 1917 and 1918. As a coach, he managed the Spain national team in four games between 1926 and 1927. Playing career He was born at the beginning of 1893 in Madrid, a city in which he would develop an extensive career linked to football. In the 1910s, he played as a midfielder for Racing de Madrid, with whom he won the 1914–15 Centro Championship together with Joaquín Pascual, Ricardo Álvarez and Feliciano Rey. Taça De Portugal
The Taça de Portugal (; "Cup of Portugal") is an annual association football competition and the premier knockout tournament in Portuguese football. For sponsorship reasons, it has been known as Taça de Portugal Placard since the 2015–16 season. Organised by the Portuguese Football Federation since it was first held in 1938, the competition is open to professional and amateur clubs from the top-four league divisions. Matches are played from August–September to May–June, and the final is traditionally held at the Estádio Nacional in Oeiras, near Lisbon. 1922 Campeonato De Portugal
The 1922 Campeonato de Portugal was the 1st edition of the Portuguese football knockout tournament, organized by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). The regional champions from the Algarve, Lisbon, Madeira, Porto FAs were invited to take part in this newly formed tournament. Due to organizational and financial problems, the Algarve and Madeira FAs could not participate and, thus, the competition only fixtured two teams: the Lisbon champions, Sporting CP; and the Porto champions, FC Porto. The winner of the inaugural Campeonato de Portugal was determined by a 'best-of-three' series. Porto won the first game 2–1 which was held at the Campo da Constituição. Portuguese Football Federation
The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) ( pt, Federação Portuguesa de Futebol; ) is the governing body of football in Portugal. 1922–23 Prince Of Asturias Cup
The 1922–23 Prince of Asturias Cup was the fifth tournament of the Prince of Asturias Cup, which is an inter-regional football competition contested by the regional selections of Spain. The pre-favourites to win were the Catalan team because at that time they had great international figures such as the Spanish goalkeeper Ricardo Zamora or the Barcelona players Josep Samitier, the Filipino Paulino Alcántara and the Argentine Emili Sagi-Barba, but instead, they were knocked out in the semi-finals by the eventual champions Asturias, who defeated Galicia in the final 3–1, courtesy of a second-half brace from José Luis Zabala. Enrique Peris
Enrique Peris de Vargas (27 February 1887 - 17 February 1953) was a Spanish footballer who played as a left winger. He spent most of his career at Barcelona, with whom he played over 300 matches. Club career Born in Barcelona, he began his career in 1903 at FC Internacional. Together with Paco Bru and Charles Wallace, he helped the club achieve three successive runner-up finishes in the Catalan championship between 1904 and 1906, losing out on the title to a different opponent each time, Club Español (now RCD Espanyol) FC Barcelona and X Sporting Club respectively. In 1906, the club had to suspend its activities due to a lack of players, and most of the players, including him, joined Barcelona in the 1906-07 season, playing first as a midfielder and finally as a left-winger. Eulogio Aranguren
Eulogio Aranguren Labairu (27 July 1892 – 19 October 1972) was an Argentine footballer who spent his youth in Basque Country. He was a midfielder and played most of his career for Real Madrid CF. He was the elder brother of Sotero Aranguren who was also his teammate at Real Madrid. Biography He played for Real Madrid for 10 years, between 1911 and 1921. In this period he made 20 appearances but failed to score in official games, as he played mostly as defender. Three years after the premature death of his brother, Eulogio (together with King Alfonso XIII and a sister of Machimbarrena, the captain of Real Madrid who also died in the same period) inaugurated a statue to the two players at the entrance of the first team's locker room.
