1922–23 Prince Of Asturias Cup
The 1922–23 Prince of Asturias Cup was the fifth tournament of the Prince of Asturias Cup, which is an inter-regional football competition contested by the regional selections of Spain. The pre-favourites to win were the Catalan team because at that time they had great international figures such as the Spanish goalkeeper Ricardo Zamora or the Barcelona players Josep Samitier, the Filipino Paulino Alcántara and the Argentine Emili Sagi-Barba, but instead, they were knocked out in the semi-finals by the eventual champions Asturias, who defeated Galicia in the final 3–1, courtesy of a second-half brace from José Luis Zabala. José Luis Zabala
José Luis Zabala (14 December 1898 – 22 April 1946) was a Spanish Association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward. He played in four matches for the Spain national football team in 1923 and 1924, scoring four goals, including a Hat-trick#Association football, hat-trick against Portugal national football team, Portugal on 16 December of 1923. Andalusia Autonomous Football Team
The Andalusia national football team is the national football team of Andalusia. Agustín Eizaguirre Ostolaza (7 October 1897 – 28 November 1961) was a Spanish Association football, footballer who played as a goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. He competed in the football tournament of the 1920 Summer Olympics with the Spain team winning the silver medal without making an appearance. At club level, he played for Real Sociedad. Career Eizaguirre was born in Zarautz in 1897. He was a Real Sociedad goalkeeper from 1912 to 1925, making 70 appearances. He played in the inaugural match at Atotxa Stadium in October 1913. Cristóbal Martí Batalla (born 22 May 1903 – 28 July 1986) was a Spanish association football, football player and manager. Bosch Josep-Clemente Gràcia (5 February 1897 – 6 March 1981), known as Grace, was a Spanish Catalan footballer who played as a forward and out as header during a career which lasted from 1917 to 1926. Estadio De Amute
Amute Stadium (Estadio de Amute in Spanish) was the football stadium of Real Unión, a main team in Spanish football before the Second World War. The club was formed in 1915 following the merger of Irún Sporting Club and Racing Club de Irún. Irún Sporting Club played at the Campo de Amute, which was situated just to the north of town in the village of Hondarribia, not far from the current site of Hondarribia's airport. Domingo Careaga Achalandabaso (3 August 1897 - 29 August 1947) was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender for Arenas de Getxo. Careaga spent all 14 seasons of his playing career with Arenas de Getxo, thus being a historical member of the club and part of the so-called one-club men group. He is best known for scoring the first goal in the history of Real Oviedo in an official match. Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same.
