Evelin Samuel
Evelin Samuel (born 13 May 1975) is an Estonian singer, songwriter, musical theater performer, author of children's books and participant in the Eurovision Song Contest. Career Evelin Samuel has been singing since childhood and was even recorded by the studios of the Estonian Radio at a very early age. In the late 1980s, Evelin joined the children's musical theatre Colombina whom she performed with at the 1992 Roskilde Festival in Denmark. In 1993, she finished 4th at ''Kaks takti ette'', a contest for debutant singers, organized by Estonian Television. The same year, she won the Baltic song contest ''Via Baltica'' and a year later she won again with "''Vari ja roos''" at Uus Laul, a song contest organized by the Estonian Television. In 1997 and 1999, Evelin Samuel took part in the Eurovision Song Contest while 2002 saw the release of her debut album ''Alternature: Over The Water Blue''. The Eurovision Song Contest (), sometimes abbreviated to ESC and often known simply as Eurovision, is an international songwriting competition organised annually by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), featuring participants representing primarily European countries. Once In A Lifetime (Ines Song)
Estonia was represented by Ines, with the song "Once in a Lifetime", at the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 13 May in Stockholm. "Once in a Lifetime" was chosen as the Estonian entry at the national final, Eurolaul, on 5 February. Before Eurovision Eurolaul 2000 The final was held at the studios of broadcaster ETV in Tallinn, hosted by Marko Reikop. Ten songs took part with the winner being chosen by a 10-member "expert" international jury. Eda-Ines Etti
Eda-Ines Etti (, born 26 May 1981), also known as simply Ines, is an Estonian singer and songwriter. Etti represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 with the song " Once in a Lifetime", placing fourth. Until their win the following year, this was Estonia's best result in the competition. Career Ines was designed to be once again Estonia's public face at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 held in Estonia, as she was the first choice for the production team of the ''Eurolaul'' entry " Runaway". However, she pulled out at the last moment, and an experienced Swedish singer, Sahlene was hurriedly drafted in to perform "Runaway" at Eurolaul. Estonia In The Eurovision Song Contest
Estonia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 27 times since making its debut in 1994. Its first appearance would have taken place in 1993 but a qualification round was installed for seven former Eastern Bloc countries hoping to make their debut in the contest, with Estonia failing to qualify. Estonia has won the contest once, in 2001. Estonia's first participation in 1994 was unsuccessful, finishing 24th (out of 25). Estonia went on to finish in the top eight in six out of seven contests (1996–2002), with Maarja-Liis Ilus and Ivo Linna fifth (), Maarja-Liis Ilus returning to finish eighth (1997), Evelin Samuel and Camille sixth () and Ines fourth (), before Tanel Padar, Dave Benton and 2XL gave Estonia its first victory in 2001. Estonia was represented by Koit Toome, with the song "Mere lapsed", at the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 9 May in Birmingham. "Mere lapsed" was chosen as the Estonian entry at the national final, Eurolaul, on 24 January. Before Eurovision Eurolaul 1998 The final was held at the studios of broadcaster ETV in Tallinn, hosted by Marko Reikop and Anu Välba. Ten songs took part with the winner being chosen by an "expert" international jury. Other participants included former Estonian representatives Janika Sillamaa and Ivo Linna, and the following year's Evelin Samuel. "Mere lapsed" was an unexpected winner and had never been ahead in the voting until the final juror's votes enabled it to snatch an unpredicted last minute victory. Koit Toome
Koit Toome (born 3 January 1979), is an Estonian singer and musical actor. He has twice represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest. In Eurovision Song Contest 1998, 1998 he finished 12th with the song "Mere lapsed". In Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, 2017 he sang a duet with Laura Põldvere, entitled "Verona (song), Verona". Career Koit Toome was discovered in the music school in 1994 by the music producer Mikk Targo who was initially planning to launch a solo career for Koit. It later turned out that Koit's schoolmate and initial backing vocalist Sirli Hiius harmonized perfectly with Koit. Due to this, Koit's solo turned into a pop duo, Code One, which enjoyed a successful run of top hits that over the years have become evergreens.
