Eom Hye-Won
Eom Hye-won (; born 8 September 1991) is a South Korean badminton player who specializes in doubles. She became a national representative since 2004, and was selected to join the national team in 2008. As a member of the Korea National Sport University team, she was awarded as the best player by the Badminton Korea Association in 2011. Career In 2008, she won a bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in the mixed doubles event partnered with Kim Gi-jung. She came to international prominence playing women's doubles with Jang Ye-na, with whom she reached the finals of the 2013 BWF World Championships, but Badminton Korea Association decided to let her concentrate on playing mixed doubles for the subsequent Asian Games, in Incheon, Korea. Um (Korean Surname)
Um, also spelled as Uhm, Eom, Ohm or Om, is a relatively uncommon family name in Korea. It is written using the same character as the Chinese surname, Yan (嚴). It has only one clan, the Yeongwol Eom clan, based in Yeongwol, Gangwon Province. According to the 2015 census in South Korea, there were 144,425 people carrying the Eom surname. History Eom is a surname that originated from China. The founding ancestor, Eom Im-ui, was sent to Korea by Emperor Xuanzong of Tang, during Gyeongdeok of Silla's reign. BWF World Junior Championships
The BWF World Junior Championships (also known as the World Junior Badminton Championships) is a tournament organized by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) to crown the best junior badminton players (under-19) in the world. The championships is held annually and consists of two separate competitions: a mixed team championships (Suhandinata Cup) followed by an individual championships (Eye Level Cups). Editions The precursor of the championships was the Bimantara World Junior Invitational held in Indonesia from 1987 to 1991. Yu Yang (badminton)
Yu Yang (; born 7 April 1986) is a retired Chinese badminton player specializing in doubles. She is an Olympic Games gold medalist, three time World Champion and four time Asian Champion. Yu was part of the China winning team in four Sudirman Cup, three Uber Cup, two Asian Games, and in a Asia Team Championships. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Science and Technology of China. Wang Xiaoli
Wang Xiaoli (; born 24 June 1989) is a Chinese badminton player who is a doubles specialist. In 2012, she competed at the 2012 London Summer Olympics. Career In 2005, she joined the Chinese national second team and officially became the first team in 2008. Wang Xiaoli began her international career in 2009 when she paired with Tao Jiaming in mixed doubles and with Ma Jin in women's doubles. She quickly gained success with Ma Jin and culminated their career with a gold medal at the 2009 Asia Championships. In the middle of the 2010 season, Wang Xiaoli dropped mixed doubles from her repertoire of events and began competing in women's doubles with Yu Yang. Jang Ye-na
Chang Ye-na (; ; born 13 December 1989) is a South Korean badminton player who specializes in doubles. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She won gold medals at the 2013 Kazan Universiade in the mixed team and women's doubles event partnered with Kim So-yeong. Kim Gi-jung or Kim Ki-jung (; or ; born 14 August 1990) is a South Korean badminton player. He competed at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics in the men's doubles event. Career In 2008, he won a bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in the mixed doubles event partnered with Eom Hye-Won. The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the international governing body for the sport of badminton recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was founded in 1934 as the International Badminton Federation (IBF) with nine member nations (Canada, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales).
