Einar Dahl (politician)
Einar Dahl (born 15 November 1880, death unknown) was a Norwegian barrister and politician for the Conservative Party. He was born in Trondhjem as a son of judge Hartvig Bernhard Dadhl (1841–1903) and Therese Mathilde Ellingsen (1850–1919). He was married to merchant's daughter Inger Goltermann from 1908 until her death in 1945, then from 1946 to Kristine Lorck, a sister of banker Hans Skirstad. He took the examen artium in 1899 and graduated from the Royal Frederick University with the cand.jur. degree in 1904. He settled as an attorney in Trondhjem, and from 1926 he was a barrister with access to work with Supreme Court cases. Einar is a Scandinavian given name deriving from the Old Norse name Einarr, which according to Guðbrandur Vigfússon is directly connected with the concept of the einherjar, warriors who died in battle and ascended to Valhalla in Norse mythology. Francis Kjeldsberg
Francis Kjeldsberg, OBE, MVO (10 February 1869 – 24 May 1948) was a Norwegian businessperson and politician for the Conservative Party. He was born in Trondhjem as a son of consul Rasmus Flor Kjeldsberg (1828–1897) and Harriet Southern (1834–1924). In 1899 he married Margrethe Berg, daughter of merchant Claus Nissen Riiber Berg (1832–1915). Their daughter Harriet married chief physician Odd Kjeldsberg Stub. He graduated from Kristiania Commerce School in 1887, and studied abroad for one year. He was hired in the family company ''R. Kjeldsberg'' in 1890, and was the company owner from 1897 to 1927. From 1897 he was also a vice consul for the United Kingdom, upgrading to consul from 1931 to 1945. He was decorated as a Knight of the Royal Victorian Order and Officer of the Order of the British Empire. From 1927 to 1937 he was the manager of Vinmonopolet's branch in Trondheim. Ole Konrad Ribsskog
Ole Konrad Ribsskog (8 December 1865 – 26 January 1941) was a Norwegian educator and politician for the Labour and the Social Democratic Labour parties. He was born in Flatanger as a son of farmers Johannes Olsen Ribsskog (1838–1910) and Marta Marie Ribsskog, née Høstland (1847–1901). He was an older brother of Adolf Ribsskog, headmaster and mayor of Steinkjer, and Bernhof Ribsskog, educator and social democratic politician. He was elected to the Parliament of Norway from the constituency Baklandet in 1913, and served one term. On the local level he was elected to Trondhjem city council in 1907. ''Merkantilt biografisk leksikon: hvem er hvem i næringslivet?'' ( en, Mercantile Biographical Encyclopedia: Who is Who in the Enterprise?) was a Norwegian-language encyclopedia published by Yrkesforlaget in 1935. It featured approximately 10,000 short biographical entries for Norwegian businesspeople, and was edited by Einar Hoffstad (1894–1959). It was printed by Grøndahl & Søns Boktrykkeri. The purpose of the encyclopedia was to "remedy the need to know something about the individuals one is trading with". The entries contain little genealogical information, and the parents of the portrayed businesspeople are not included. Abbreviations are used extensively to save space and money. The editor, Einar Hoffstad, stated in the foreword of the encyclopedia that it was not a parallel to the '' Who's Who'' reference works, although the title could imply that.
