Edvard Westman
Gustav Edvard Westman (16 May 1865 – 23 September 1917) was a Sweden, Swedish painter, known for his works in the en plein air, plein air style. Biography Edvard Westman was born in Gävle, Sweden, but spent most of his childhood in Stockholm. He was the son of Johan Ludwig Westman and Emma Elisabeth Holmström. His brother Ernst Ludvig Westman (1863–1949) was also an artist. After first attending the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts, Swedish Academy in Stockholm from 1882 to 1883, he was then a student with artist Oscar Törnå (c. 1842–1894) at his studio. He continued his studies in the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Düsseldorf Academy from 1883 to 1885 under Heinrich Lauenstein, followed by a period in Paris and Belgium. After his studies in Paris, he became a member of the artists colonies in Skagen painters, Skagen, Denmark, and Önningeby artists colony, Önningeby on the island of Åland in the late 19th century. Victor Westerholm
Victor Axel Westerholm (4 January 1860 Turku – 19 November 1919 Turku) was a Finnish landscape painter, especially known for founding the Önningeby artists' colony. Biography Victor Axel Westerholm was born in Turku in 1860. He was the son of Viktor Westerholm, a ship's master, and Maria Westerholm (née Andersson). As a child he spent a lot of time at the island of Nagu in the Finnish Archipelago. From 1869 to 1878 he studied at the Finnish Art Society's Drawing School in Turku, under Robert Wilhelm Ekman (1808–1873) and Thorsten Waenerberg (1846–1917); and as a young man he studied under Eugen Dücker (1841–1916) in Düsseldorf from 1878-1880. Skagen Museum
Skagens Museum is an art museum in Skagen, Denmark, that exhibits an extensive collection of works by members of the colony of Skagen Painters who lived and worked in the area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Important artists include Marie and P. S. Krøyer, Anna and Michael Ancher, Laurits Tuxen, Viggo Johansen, and Holger Drachmann. The museum also hosts special exhibitions. Its facilities include a café in the Garden House, an old building which for a while served as home residence and studio of Anna and Michael Ancher. Norrtälje
Norrtälje is a locality and the seat of Norrtälje Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden with 17,275 inhabitants in 2010. It is one of the largest towns in Roslagen. History Norrtälje’s early history dates back to the Iron Age. Around 225 ancient monuments have been found within what is now the city. Three ancient castles are assumed to have stood in the former villages Nordrona, Solbacka and Knutby. Norrtälje traces its more recent history to 1219, when the location was first mentioned as Tälje. After some time, the name officially became Norrtälje, to distinguish it from the other Tälje in the province, Södertälje. Lund
