EyeQ was a Danish girl group, that formed as the winners of the first season of the reality series ''Popstars'' which was broadcast on TV2 in 2001. The group became one of Danmarks best selling music groups. The group consisted of singers Trine Jepsen Trine Randbo Jakobsen (nee Jepsen)(born 29 September 1977) is a Danish singer, actress and television presenter. Girl Group
A girl group is a music act featuring several female singers who generally harmonize together. The term "girl group" is also used in a narrower sense in the United States to denote the wave of American female pop music singing groups, many of whom were influenced by doo-wop and which flourished in the late 1950s and early 1960s between the decline of early rock and roll and start of the British Invasion. TV 2 (''TV to'') is a Danish government-owned broadcast and subscription television station in Denmark based in Odense, Funen. History Since 1949, Danmarks Radio had been the sole provider of television in Denmark. Wanting to end the monopoly, the Danish Parliament voted on 30 May 1986, to create TV2, as a second choice for public service television. Denmark In The Eurovision Song Contest 2001
Denmark participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 with the song "Never Ever Let You Go" written by Søren Poppe, Stefan Nielsen and Thomas Brekling. The song was performed by the duo Rollo and King. In addition to participating in the contest, the Danish broadcaster DR also hosted the Eurovision Song Contest after winning the competition in 2000 with the song "Fly on the Wings of Love" performed by the Olsen Brothers. DR organised the national final ''Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2001'' in order to select the Danish entry for the 2001 contest in Copenhagen.
