Evolución (Menudo Album)
''Evolución'' is Menudo's 16th album (14th in Spanish). This album features new member Ricky Martin. Ricky Martin replaced Ricky Meléndez, the last member to exit from the original line-up. Ricky Meléndez was nearing his 17th birthday when it was decided who was going to be his replacement. Ricky Martin wasn't their first choice. Ray’s brother Raul Reyes was working the backup vocals and was considered to join the group, also Tico Santana was the name of a kid considered to join the group at that time, but for unknown reasons it was decided to give Ricky Martin the position. This is also the last album Ray Reyes recorded as a member of the group. It received a nomination for a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. Ricky Martin sings lead vocal on "Rayo De Luna", one of the group's most popular songs of the era. Menudo (band)
Menudo is a Puerto Rican boy band that was formed in Puerto Rico by producer Edgardo Díaz. Referred to as the "Most Iconic Latino Pop Music Band", Menudo has been ranked as one of the Biggest Boy Bands of All Time by several publications, including '' Billboard'', ''Us Weekly'', '' Seventeen'', and '' Teen Vogue'', being the only Latin band on their lists. ''Menudo'' is an album released by Menudo in 1985. This is the third time the group release a self-titled album, the first one was in 1981, which was also released under the title '' Fuego''. The second one was Menudo's 17th album (second in English) released in 1985, featuring Charlie Massó, Roy Rosselló, Robby Rosa, Ricky Martin, and new member Raymond Acevedo. Raymond replaced Ray Reyes after Ray had to be forced to leave the group because of the numerous fights and misunderstandings between his father and the group's manager. Ricky Meléndez (born Ricardo Omar Meléndez Saurí, November 22, 1967 in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican singer, lawyer and actor, best known for his tenures as a member of boy band Menudo and of El Reencuentro. Ray Reyes León (March 13, 1970 – April 30, 2021) was a Puerto Rican singer who was a member of the Puerto Rican boy band Menudo.
