Evington is an unincorporated community in Campbell County, Virginia, United States. Evington is located along Virginia State Route 24, west of U.S. Highway 29, southwest of Lynchburg. Caryswood was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. Bob Good, the congressman for Virginia's 5th congressional district, lives in Evington. Caryswood is a historic home located near Evington, Campbell County, Virginia. It was built about 1855 and is a two-story frame building in an “L” configuration, covered by a low, hipped roof. It has a two-story, rear addition, with a one-story kitchen extension. The house is covered in flush (presumably ship-lapped or tongue-and-groove) siding, which creates a regular, smooth, somewhat monolithic appearance. WSET-TV (channel 13) is a television station licensed to Lynchburg, Virginia, United States, serving as the ABC affiliate for the Roanoke–Lynchburg market. The station is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, and has studios on Langhorne Road in Lynchburg; its transmitter is located atop Thaxton Mountain, near Thaxton, Virginia. History Channel 13 began operations on February 8, 1953, as WLVA-TV from a transmitter on Tobacco Row Mountain west of Sweet Briar. The station was owned by Lynchburg Broadcasting Corporation, which also owned WLVA radio (580 AM). WLVA-TV also served Charlottesville, where residents reported good reception during testing, from this transmitter site. Robert George Good (born September 11, 1965) is an American politician who is the U.S. representative in Virginia's 5th congressional district. He is a member of the Republican Party. State Route 24 (SR 24) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of Virginia. The state highway runs from U.S. Route 221 (US 221) and SR 116 in Roanoke east to US 60 in Mt. Rush.
