''Everything Is A-OK'' is the fifth studio album by Australian alternative rock band Violent Soho, released on 3 April 2020 by I Oh You and Pure Noise Records. Supported by six singles—"A-OK", "Vacation Forever", "Lying on the Floor", "Pick It Up Again", "Canada", and "Slow Down Sonic"—''Everything Is A-OK'' debuted atop the Australian albums chart on 11 April 2020, becoming Violent Soho's second number one album in Australia (following ''Waco'' in 2016). At the 2020 ARIA Music Awards, the album received three nominations—for Best Rock Album, Engineer of the Year (for Greg Wales) and Best Cover Art (for Luke Henery). Promotion The band premiered the album through a Q&A livestream on Facebook and YouTube. Violent Soho
Violent Soho were an Australian alternative rock band that was formed in 2004 in the Brisbane suburb of Mansfield, Queensland originally under the name of "showroom". For the majority of the band's existence, the line-up was composed of Luke Boerdam (lead vocals, guitar), James Tidswell (guitar, backing vocals), Luke Henery (bass, backing vocals) and Michael Richards (drums, backing vocals). Their sound has been compared to that of 1980s and 1990s alternative rock bands such as the Pixies, Mudhoney and Nirvana. Although being largely described as grunge, the band self described themselves as a " stoner pop" band. The band's third studio album, ''Hungry Ghost'', was certified Gold in Australia in September 2014. Their fourth album, ''Waco'', debuted at number 1 on the Australian ARIA Charts in 2016. 2020 ARIA Music Awards
The 2020 ARIA Music Awards are the 34th Annual Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAs) and consist of a series of awards, including the 2020 ARIA Artisan Awards, ARIA Hall of Fame Awards, ARIA Fine Arts Awards and the ARIA Awards. The ARIA Awards ceremony occurred on 25 November 2020, with Delta Goodrem as host. However, due to COVID-safe restrictions, it was without an audience and was broadcast from the Star Event Centre, Sydney on the Nine Network around Australia. White Noise Records was a record label founded in Los Angeles in 1978 by artists Ronn and Louise Spencer, writers Nicole Panter and Jim Bickhart, attorneys Gordon Rubin and Peter Paterno, and publicist Bob Merlis. White Noise's first release was the 7" EP ''Live at Surf City'' (1978) by VOM, a short-lived punk ensemble led by notorious rock critic Richard Meltzer and featuring future Angry Samoans Gregg Turner and "Metal" Mike Saunders. The label's second release was ''Avengers'', a 1979 12" EP by the Avengers, produced by Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols.
