Évanturel (2016 population 449) is a township in Timiskaming District, Ontario, Canada. It almost completely surrounds the town of Englehart. The main settlement in Évanturel is the community of Heaslip. It was named after François-Eugène-Alfred Évanturel, the first Francophone speaker for the Ontario legislative assembly. Kap-Kig-Iwan Provincial Park is partially located in the township. Kap-Kig-Iwan Provincial Park
Kap-Kig-Iwan Provincial Park is a protected area in the incorporated townships of Charlton and Dack and Evanturel in Timiskaming District in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. Established in 1957, the park is located along the Englehart River, off Ontario Highway 11 about south of the town of Englehart. Kap-Kig-Iwan is classified as a Natural Environment park and is a provincial park of Ontario. Kap-Kig-Iwan has both electric and non-electric campsites. Charlton And Dack
Charlton and Dack is a municipality in the Canadian province of Ontario, located within the Timiskaming District. Its population in 2016 was 686. The municipality was incorporated on January 1, 2003 by amalgamating the former village of Charlton with the former township of Dack. Geography Charlton and Dack is a small community located in North Eastern Ontario along Highway 11 and along the shoreline of Long Lake. The municipality, only a thirty-minute drive to either Temiskaming Shores and Kirkland Lake, is covered from one end to the other with forested rolling hills and fertile farmland. Armstrong ( 2016 Population 1,166) is a township in the Timiskaming District of Ontario. The only population centre in the township is the community of Earlton. The township is named after Samuel Armstrong, an Independent member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario for Parry Sound from 1886 to 1890. History Earlton began to be settled in 1900 as a lumber community by pioneers mostly from York County, soon followed by French-speaking farmers who cultivated the flat prairie-like land of the surrounding Great Clay Belt. In 1904, its post office was opened. The postmaster, Edward Albert Brasher, named the community after his son Earl. In 1921, Armstrong Township was incorporated. Canada 2016 Census
The 2016 Canadian census was an enumeration of Canadian residents, which counted a population of 35,151,728, a change from its 2011 population of 33,476,688. The census, conducted by Statistics Canada, was Canada's seventh quinquennial census. The official census day was May 10, 2016. Census web access codes began arriving in the mail on May 2, 2016. The 2016 census marked the reinstatement of the mandatory long-form census, which had been dropped in favour of the voluntary National Household Survey for the 2011 census. With a response rate of 98.4%, this census is said to be the best one ever recorded since the 1666 census of New France. This census was succeeded by Canada's 2021 census.
