Eva Dahllöf
Eva Ingeborg Dahllöf (born 4 July 1965) is a Swedish professional golfer who played 17 seasons on the LPGA Tour. Early life and amateur career Dahllöf started playing golf at the age of 9 with her father Kjell and mother Gun at Örnsköldsvik Golf Club in the province of Ångermanland in Sweden. At age 12, she won the 1977 Norrland Ladies' Championship (the championship representing the geographical northern half of Sweden) over 72 holes at her home course. In April 1983, Dahlöf won the French Junior Open Match-play Championship for the Esmond Trophy at Golf de Saint-Cloud outside Paris, beating Claire Waite, England, on the first extra hole of the final match. Later in 1983, not yet 18 years old, Dahlöf won over future professional major winners Liselotte Neuman and Helen Alfredsson in an important junior tournament in Sweden, JC Open at Varberg Golf Club. Louise Friberg (born 24 June 1980) is a Swedish professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the United States-based LPGA Tour. Early years Born in a golfing family, Friberg started playing golf at young age at Rya Golf Club, outside Helsingborg, Sweden. Her father Mikael and her grandfather Björn were both elite golfers and each of them held a scratch handicap at the same time in the 1970s. Her grandfather Björn started the Swedish agency for Ping golf equipment, after he coincidentally met Karsten Solheim, when Björn tried to qualify for The Open Championship in England in 1971. Espirito Santo Trophy
The Espirito Santo Trophy (World Women's Amateur Team Championships) is a biennial world amateur team golf championship for women organised by the International Golf Federation. The inaugural event was held in 1964. It was instituted by the French Golf Federation in an agreement with the United States Golf Association. It was planned by Lally Segard, at the time known as Vicomtesse de Saint Sauveur, from France and Mrs. Henri Prunaret from America. Segard also asked her friends Ricardo and Silvia Espirito Santo, from Portugal, to donate a trophy for the event, which they did. They had originally bought the golden cup, which had belonged to Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, for an international Portuguese event that was not played anymore. Turnberry (golf Course)
Turnberry is a golf resort on the Firth of Clyde in Ayrshire, southwest Scotland. It comprises three links golf courses, a golf academy, a five-star James Miller-designed hotel from 1906, along with lodge and cottage accommodations. Turnberry was a popular golf course and resort from its inception, made accessible because of the Maidens and Dunure Light Railway. It closed in both World Wars for military use, and there was concern it would not open following World War II, but it was redesigned by Mackenzie Ross and re-opened in 1951. The 1987 European Ladies' Team Championship took place 8–12 July at Turnberry Golf Resort in South Ayrshire, Scotland, United Kingdom. It was the 15th women's golf amateur European Ladies' Team Championship. Venue The Ailsa Course, situated 80 kilometres south of Glasgow, Scotland, on headland along the Firth of Clyde, overlooking the Isle of Arran and Ailsa Craig, was initially opened with 13 holes in 1901, designed by Willie Fernie, and later completed to 18 holes. European Ladies' Team Championship
The European Ladies' Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for women organised by the European Golf Association. The inaugural event was held in 1959. It was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Format Currently, the championship is contested by up to 20 teams, each of 6 players. The format consists of two rounds of strokeplay, out of which the five lowest scores from each team's six players will count each day. The total addition of the five lowest scores will constitute the team's score and determine the teams qualified for the last three rounds of matchplay. Only teams in contention for a medal will play a match format of two foursomes and five singles, while the other teams will play a one foursome and four singles match format.
