European Syriac Union
European Syriac Union is an alliance between different Assyrian/Syriac political and cultural organizations in Europe that was established in May 2004. The group emerged from the Bethnahrin National Council or Mawtbo Umthoyo d'Bethnahrin (MUB), formerly known as the Bethnahrin Freedom Party (GHB) and Patriotic Revolutionary Organization of Bethnahrin (PROB) or Bethnahrin Patriotic Revolution Organization. Today, it is notable for operating Suroyo TV. GHB history GHB is a militant Assyrian/Syriac party, whose stated aim is to create an independent Assyrian state in Beth Nahrain, a reference to the Assyrian homeland. It is an ethnic secessionist organization that uses force and the threat of force against military targets for the purpose of achieving its political goal. Dawronoye
Dawronoye ( syr, ܕܲܘܪܵܢܵܝܹܐ) is a secular, leftist, national liberation movement among the Assyrian people. Ideologically characterized by progressive ideas and including socialist elements, its founding roots can be traced to the late 1980s in the town of Midyat in Turkey. The modern manifestation of the movement is controversial among Assyrian organizations worldwide, particularly due to its ties to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the Democratic Union Party (PYD). Iskender Alptekin
Iskender Alptekin ( syr, ܐܣܟܢܕܪ ܐܠܦܬܟܢ; 29 August 1961 – 18 May 2010), also known as Matay Rabo, was an Aramaic politician, musician and the President of the European Syriac Union (ESU). Biography Iskender Alptekin was born on 29 August 1961 in the Kafro village in Tur Abdin, Turkey. He passed his childhood at the village while studying the primary at the same time learning Syriac language. He left his village in 1977 for Istanbul to find work. In 1978 he married Ferida Cacan and emigrated to Switzerland. He was the father of two daughters. In Switzerland he became active in Syriac politics, joining various national conferences in Europe, the United States, and Australia. Iskender Alptekin became the first chairman of the newly established European Syriac Union on 14 May 2004. He was again unanimously re-elected at the second ESU Congress in 2007. Syriac Union Party (Lebanon)
The Syriac Union Party ( syr, ܓܒܐ ܕܚܘܝܕܐ ܣܘܪܝܝܐ ܒܠܒܢܢ, ar, حزب الاتحاد السرياني) abbreviated as SUL is a Lebanese Assyrian/Syriac political party established on 29 March 2005. It expresses points of view of the Assyrian/Syriac minority community in Lebanon without any confessional differences between Syriac Orthodox or Syriac Catholic and is vocal in asking for independent seats for the Assyrians/Syriacs in the Lebanese Parliament, rather than confining them to the " minorities seat" in Beirut as is now the case. The Syriac Military Council ( syr, ܡܘܬܒܐ ܦܘܠܚܝܐ ܣܘܪܝܝܐ, translit=Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS; ar, المجلس العسكري السرياني السوري) is an Assyrian/Syriac military organisation in Syria, part of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
