''Sportske novosti'' () is a Croatian daily sports newspaper based in Zagreb. It was established on 9 August 1945 as ''Ilustrirane fiskulturne novine'' weekly newspaper. Several months later, on 10 December 1945, its name got changed to ''Narodni sport''. From March 1949, its publishing frequency increased to twice a week, and from 1951 to three times per week. In 1962 it was acquired by the ''Vjesnik'' publishing company. Its name was changed to ''Sportske novosti'' on 1 March 1962 and from then on it was published five times per week. Since 1967 it was published six times per week (every day except on Sundays). The Croatian War of Independence was fought from 1991 to 1995 between Croat forces loyal to the Government of Croatia—which had declared independence from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY)—and the Serb-controlled Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) and local Serb forces, with the JNA ending its combat operations in Croatia by 1992. ''Slobodna Dalmacija'' () is a Croatian daily newspaper published in Split. The first issue of ''Slobodna Dalmacija'' was published on 17 June 1943 by Tito's Partisans in an abandoned stone barn on Mosor, a mountain near Split, while the city was occupied by the Italian army. The paper was later published in various locations until Split was liberated on 26 October 1944. From the following day onward, ''Slobodna Dalmacija'' has been published in Split. ''Globus'' is a Croatian language weekly news magazine published in Zagreb, Croatia. History and profile ''Globus'' was started in 1990, having some of its first issues published during the Croatian War of Independence. The founders are Ninoslav Pavic, Denis Kuljiš and Zdravko Jurak. Ninoslav Pavić, Nino Pavić, is the founder and previous owner of Europapress Holding, now Hanza Media, the largest media company in Southeast Europe. He was the first media mogul of Croatia. Zagreb Stock Exchange
The Zagreb Stock Exchange or ZSE ( hr, Zagrebačka burza ) is a stock exchange located in Zagreb, Croatia. It is Croatia's only stock exchange. The exchange trades shares of Croatian companies, as well as bonds and commercial bills. The ZSE was established in 1991 as the successor of "Zagreb Stock Exchange for the goods and values" which was co-founded by Samuel David Alexander in 1907. In March 2007 it incorporated VSE, forming a single Croatian capital market, leading in the region by market capitalization and trading volume. As of 31 December 2016, ZSE's total market capitalization was 232.4 billion kn (€30.8 billion). Dragan Primorac
Dragan Primorac (born June 7, 1965) is a Croatian physician, geneticist and forensic scientist. He is the first recipient of the title "Global Penn State University Ambassador". Currently, he serves as the Chair of the International Affairs Committee of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and as President of the International Society for Applied Biological Sciences. He is a member of the International Consortium for Personalised Medicine Executive Committee (IC PerMEd) established by The European Commission. The University North ( hr, Sveučilište Sjever) is a public university in Croatia that operates in two university centres, Koprivnica and Varaždin.
