Etna, Lincoln County, Nevada
Etna is former railroad station in Lincoln County, in the U.S. state of Nevada. In 1941, Etna had 14 inhabitants who were the owners of the nearby Tennille ranch. The last occupants of Etna left in the late 1970s. The residence was demolished in the early 1990s. Etna Cave, which contains rock art, is located nearby. Pioche is an unincorporated town in Lincoln County, Nevada, United States, approximately northeast of Las Vegas. U.S. Route 93 is the main route to Pioche and bypasses the town center just to the east, with Nevada State Route 321 and Nevada State Route 322 providing direct access. Its elevation is above sea level. Pioche is the county seat of Lincoln County. Pioche is named after François Louis Alfred Pioche, a San Francisco financier and land speculator originally from France. The town's population was 1,002 at the 2010 census. Narconon International (commonly known as Narconon) is a Scientology organization which promotes the theories of founder L. Ron Hubbard regarding substance abuse treatment and addiction. Its parent company is the Association for Better Living and Education (ABLE), which is owned and controlled by the Church of Scientology. State Route 317 (SR 317) is a state highway in Lincoln County, Nevada, Lincoln County, Nevada. It connects the ghost town of Elgin, Nevada, Elgin north to U.S. Route 93 in Nevada, U.S. Route 93 (US 93) in the city of Caliente, Nevada, Caliente. Portions of the highway were heavily damaged by flooding in January 2005 and repairs were not yet complete as of January 2015. History State Route 55 was a state highway (US), state highway in the U.S. state of Nevada, running south from U.S. Route 93 (Nevada), U.S. Route 93 in Caliente, Nevada, Caliente into Kershaw–Ryan State Park. It was defined by 1935 and survived until the 1976 renumbering.
