André Essel (4 September 1918 – 31 March 2005) was the co-founder of Fnac, originally ''Fédération nationale d’achats des cadres, or National Purchasing Federation for Middle Managers'', alongside Max Théret. He was also an anti-fascist activist and a believer in Trotskyism. Achievements Essel was awarded the French Cross of War honouring his involvement in the Second World War on the side of the Allies against the Axis forces. Christian Sokapie Essel (born 6 December 1989) is Liberian retired footballer who played as both a midfielder and striker. Career Born in capital city of Monrovia, Essel began his career with Buduburam FC played here six years and joined than in Januar 2003 to Cameroonian club PWD Bamenda. After one year with the team joined in his native Ghana who played at Buduburam School for some clubs on the camp Kiawu SC, Roza FC, Shoes FC and then DISM. Eileen Essell
Eileen Essell (8 October 1922 – 15 February 2015) was an English actress, noted in part for not beginning her screen acting career until the age of 79. She retired from stage acting in 1958 following her marriage to playwright and actor Gerard McLarnon. She later earned a living as a teacher at the Central School of Music and Drama and the City University. After the death of her husband in 1997, a family friend lured her back on stage for a play he was producing. Although she had acted onstage in the 1940s/1950s, her first screen performance was in an episode of ''Doctors''. She later appeared in ''The Bill'', ''Doc Martin'', ''Holby City'', '' Hustle'', ''Casualty'', ''Ideal'' and '' Sensitive Skin'', among other episodes. Frank Abor Essel-Cobbah is a Ghanaian politician and was a member of the first parliament of the second Republic of Ghana. He represented Gomoa-Assin-Ajumako constituency under the membership of the progress party (PP). Early life and education Frank was born on 25 March 1936. He had his secondary education at Ghana National College, a senior high school in cape coast, Ghana. He further attended Kumasi College of Technology in Kumasi. He is also a graduate of the University of Ghana where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws Degree in Law. He later worked as a Lawyer before going into Parliament. Joseph Ampah Kojo Essel was a Ghanaian Member of Parliament for the Dompim constituency from 1965 to 1966. Early life Essel was born in 1921 at Sefwi-Bekwai in the Western Region of Ghana (then Gold Coast). He had his Middle School education at the Sefwi-Wiawso Government Middle School where he obtained his Standard Seven Certificate in 1937. He entered Wesley College, Kumasi in 1938 but transferred to Adisadel College a year later. His stay at Adisadel College was however, truncated in 1940 when his guardian died. Career and politics Essel begun his career in 1942 with the Gold Coast Army as a trained mechanic at the Base Workshops in Accra. He worked with the army until 1946. A year later, he obtained employment as a mechanic with C. F. A. O. in Kumasi. That same year he quit his career as a mechanic to enter the cocoa buying trade.
