Christian Sokapie Essel (born 6 December 1989) is Liberian retired footballer who played as both a midfielder and striker. Career Born in capital city of Monrovia, Essel began his career with Buduburam FC played here six years and joined than in Januar 2003 to Cameroonian club PWD Bamenda. After one year with the team joined in his native Ghana who played at Buduburam School for some clubs on the camp Kiawu SC, Roza FC, Shoes FC and then DISM. In summer 2007 was scouted from MTN Sports Academy Head Coach Ibrahim Sunday, for Zaytuna F.C. and joined than after the relegation to Sporting St. Mirren in Winter 2008/2009. During summer 2011 he has been on trial with Serbian SuperLiga clubs FK Sloboda Point Sevojno and FK Radnički 1923. He eventually got a contract with FK Radnički 1923 but failed to make a debut in the Serbian SuperLiga. Buduburam FC is a football club based in Buduburam, Gomoa East District, Ghana. It competed in the Ghana Division Two until the 2009–10 season. Monrovia () is the capital city of the West African country of Liberia. Buduburam School
Buduburam is a refugee camp located west of Accra, Ghana. It is along the Accra-Cape Coast Highway. Opened by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in 1990, the camp is home to more than 12,000 refugees from Liberia who fled their country during the First Liberian Civil War (1989–1996) and the Second Liberian Civil War (1999–2003), in addition to refugees from Sierra Leone who escaped from Sierra Leone Civil War, their civil war (1991–2002). The camp is served by Liberian and international NGO groups and volunteer organizations. The Carolyn A. Miller Elementary School provides free education to nearly 500 children in the camp. The UNHCR began pulling out of the camp in April 2007, slowly withdrawing all UNHCR-administered services. June 2010 was the official cessation of refugee status for the refugees in the settlement. Liberian Cup
The Liberian Football Association Cup, commonly known as the LFA Cup and currently known as the PetroTrade Cup due to sponsorship reasons, is an annual knockout cup competition in Liberian football. The LFA Cup is run by and named after the Liberia Football Association and usually refers to the Liberian men's tournament, although a LFA Women's Cup is also held. The LFA Cup was first held in 1974 with Mighty Barrolle being crowned the first champions. Entry is open to all teams who compete in the Liberian First and Second Divisions. The reigning champions is LISCR FC, who defeated Tony FC in the 2022 final. Format The competition is a knockout tournament with pairings for each round drawn at random.
