Ernest Masuku (born 31 December 1992) is a Zimbabwean cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Matabeleland Tuskers The Matabeleland Tuskers is one of five Zimbabwean cricket franchises. Harare
Harare (; formerly Salisbury ) is the capital and most populous city of Zimbabwe. 2018–19 Stanbic Bank 20 Series
The 2018–19 Stanbic Bank 20 Series was the eighth edition of the Stanbic Bank 20 Series, a Twenty20 cricket tournament in Zimbabwe. It took place from 11 to 17 March 2019. The tournament featured four teams, instead of the five that were scheduled to take part in the previous edition, with the Rising Stars being disbanded. There was no defending champion, as the previous edition of the tournament was cancelled. Following the conclusion of the group stage, Mashonaland Eagles and Mid West Rhinos advanced to the third-place play-off match. Matabeleland Tuskers and Mountaineers progressed to the final. The final finished as a no result due to rain, so Matabeleland Tuskers were declared the winners, after finishing highest in the group stage of the tournament. Namibian Cricket Team In Zimbabwe In 2022
The Namibia cricket team toured Zimbabwe in May 2022 to play five Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The matches were played at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, and it was the first men's T20I series between Zimbabwe and Namibia. Zimbabwe won the opening match of the series by seven runs, with captain Craig Ervine scoring an unbeaten 55 runs. Namibia then won the second match by eight wickets to level the series, and recorded their first win against Zimbabwe in international cricket. Zimbabwe won the third T20I by eight wickets, with Wesley Madhevere finishing 73 not out. Namibia went on to win the fourth match, with captain Gerhard Erasmus scoring 59 not out. Zane Green hit the winning runs off the last ball of the game, to level the series at 2–2, with one match to play. In the fifth and final match, Namibia won by 32 runs, to win the series 3–2. Twenty20 International
A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of cricket, played between two of the international members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in which each team faces a maximum of twenty overs. The matches have top-class status and are the highest T20 standard. The game is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. Starting from the format's inception in 2005, T20I status only applied to Full Members and some Associate Member teams. However, in April 2018, the ICC announced that it would grant T20I status to all its 105 members from 1 January 2019. The 2021–22 Logan Cup was the 28th edition of the Logan Cup, a first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe, which started on 15 October 2021. Twenty matches were played, with the tournament concluding on 21 February 2022. The Rocks were the defending champions. Tuskers won the tournament, after their nearest rivals, Mountaineers, were beaten by the Rocks in the final round of matches. Tuskers last won the tournament in the 2014–15 season. 2020–21 Logan Cup
The 2020–21 Logan Cup was the 27th edition of the Logan Cup, a first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe, which started on 9 December 2020. After originally scheduled to start on 3 December 2020, the tournament was moved back a week to allow time to setup a bio-secure bubble. Five teams took part in the competition, including the Southern Rocks, who last played in the 2013–14 tournament. There was no defending champion, after the previous tournament was voided due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Four matches were played during December 2020. However, on 3 January 2021, Zimbabwe Cricket halted all cricket in the country following a rise in COVID-19 cases. In mid-March 2021, it was reported that the tournament would resume later that month, with the next round of matches starting on 18 March 2021. Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. A typical Twenty20 game is completed in about two and a half hours, with each innings lasting around 70 minutes and an official 10-minute break between the innings. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). 2018 Zimbabwe Tri-Nation Series
The 2018 Zimbabwe Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament held from 1 to 8 July 2018 in Zimbabwe. It was a tri-nation series between Australia, Pakistan and Zimbabwe, with all the matches played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) at the Harare Sports Club. In the fourth T20I, Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by seven wickets, therefore Australia and Pakistan qualified for the final. Pakistan defeated Australia in the final by six wickets to win the series. Originally, the tour was just going to feature Australia and Zimbabwe, with the two teams playing two Tests and three One Day Internationals (ODIs). In June 2018, the Zimbabwe team threatened to boycott the tour in a dispute over outstanding money that has not been paid to players.
