Era Ora was a one Michelin-star Italian restaurant located in the Christianshavn neighbourhood of Copenhagen, Denmark. History Era Ora was opened in 1983 by Italian born chef Elvio Milleri and his Brazilian-born wife Edelvita Santos. The restaurant was then located at Torvegade Torvegade (literal translation, lit. "Market Street") is the central thoroughfare of Christianshavn in Copenhagen, Denmark, linking the city centre by way of Knippelsbro, Knippel Bridge with Amagerside Copenhagen at Christmas Møllers Plads. Christianshavn
Christianshavn (literally, "ingChristian's Harbour") is a neighbourhood in Copenhagen, Denmark. Part of the Indre By District, it is located on several artificial islands between the islands of Zealand and Amager and separated from the rest of the city centre by the Inner Harbour. It was founded in the early 17th century by Christian IV as part of his extension of the fortifications of Copenhagen. Originally, it was laid out as an independent privileged merchant's town with inspiration from Dutch cities but it was soon incorporated into Copenhagen proper. Dominated by canals, it is the part of Copenhagen with the most nautical atmosphere. For much of the 20th century a working-class neighbourhood, Christianshavn developed a bohemian reputation in the 1970s and it is now a fashionable, diverse and lively part of the city with its own distinctive personality. Torvegade
Torvegade (literal translation, lit. "Market Street") is the central thoroughfare of Christianshavn in Copenhagen, Denmark, linking the city centre by way of Knippelsbro, Knippel Bridge with Amagerside Copenhagen at Christmas Møllers Plads. The street crosses Christianshavns Kanal, Christianshavn Canal at Christianshavns Torv, the central square of the neighbourhood. The last section of the street runs on the embankment that across Stadsgraven. History Torvegade was the central main street of Johan Sems's original town plan. Amager Gate was built in 1624 at the eastern end of the street, although the bridge which connected it to Amager across the Stadsgraven moat was not completed until 1628. The Amager farmers passed through the street on the way to town with their produce. Amager Gate was demolished when it was decided to decommission Copenhagen's fortifications in the 1850s. Christianshavns Kanal
Christianshavns Kanal (English language, English: Christianshavn Canal) is a canal in the Christianshavn neighbourhood of Copenhagen, Denmark. Running northeast–southwest, it bisects the neighbourhood along its length. To the north it connects to Trangraven, the canal which separates Christianshavn from Holmen, Copenhagen, Holmen; to the south it makes an angular break and empties in the main harbour a little north of the Langebro bridge. At the middle, Christianshavns Kanal is crossed by Børnehusbroen. This bridge is part of Torvegade, the main thoroughfare of Christianshavn, connecting the city centre across Knippelsbro to the northwest to Amager the southeast. The only other bridge traversing the canal is Snorrebroen, located further north. TV 2 (''TV to'') is a Danish government-owned broadcast and subscription television station in Denmark based in Odense, Funen. History Since 1949, Danmarks Radio had been the sole provider of television in Denmark. Wanting to end the monopoly, the Danish Parliament voted on 30 May 1986, to create TV2, as a second choice for public service television. Upon its establishment, it had first begun its experimental test transmissions, and then, two years later, it had therefore commenced its official broadcast on 1 October 1988, with its first program being ''Danish Symphony'' which is broadcast at 17:00, followed by the news at 19:30. Subscription and overseas availability From 1 November 2009, all Danish television broadcasting became digital with DVB-T and MPEG4 standard.
