Equestrian At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Team Dressage
The team dressage in equestrian at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro was held at National Equestrian Center from 10 to 12 August. Competition format The team and individual dressage competitions used the same results. Dressage had three phases, with only the first two used in the team competition. The first phase was the Grand Prix. The top six teams advanced to the second phase, the Grand Prix Special. The results of that phase (ignoring the previous Grand Prix scores) produced the final results. Agnete Kirk Thinggaard (born 18 May 1983) is a Danish Olympic dressage rider. Representing Denmark, she competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro where she finished 26th in the individual and 6th in the team competition. Anders Dahl (equestrian)
Anders Dahl (born 11 March 1976) is a Danish Olympic dressage rider. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro where he finished 30th in the individual and 6th in the team competition. Tinne Eva Caroline Vilhelmson-Silfvén (born 12 July 1967 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish horse rider. Representing Sweden, she competed at seven Summer Olympics (1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016). She placed 4th in team dressage in 1992, and in team dressage in Beijing in 2008. Meanwhile, her current best individual Olympic placement is 8th place from 2016 Olympics. Mads Hendeliowitz (born 14 January 1982) is a Danish-born Olympic dressage rider who has been representing Sweden since 2010. Dressage Mads Hendeliowitz competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with an Oldenburg stallion Jimmie Choo. He finished 29th in the individual and 5th in the team competition. Mads was initially named as a reserve rider for the Rio Olympics. However, he went on to compete at the Games after his teammate Therese Nilshagen was unable to participate due to her horse Dante Weltino failing a pre-competition veterinary examination. Diederik van Silfhout (born 20 April 1988 in Ede, Netherlands) is a Dutch Olympic dressage rider. Representing the Netherlands, he competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics where he placed 4th in the team and 11th in the individual competitions. Van Silfhout also competed at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France, where he won a team bronze medal and placed 9th in the freestyle dressage competition. Edward Gal (born 4 March 1970 in Rheden) is a Dutch dressage rider. He and the stallion Totilas (nicknamed "Toto"), were triple gold medalists at the 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games, becoming the first horse-rider partnership ever to sweep the three available dressage gold medals at a single FEI World Games. Going into the 2010 Games, they had amassed multiple world-record scores in international competition, leading one American journalist to call them "rock stars in the horse world". After the World Equestrian Games, Totilas was sold to German trainer Paul Schockemöhle. Gal continues to be successful training and competing dressage horses at the international level.
