Enrico Ferri (politician)
Enrico Ferri (17 February 1942 – 17 December 2020) was an Italian politician and magistrate. Biography Graduated in law at the University of Florence in 1966, Ferri has been a magistrate since 1970 and since 1971 a praetor in Pontremoli. He was a member of the Superior Council of the Judiciary from 1976 to 1981, when he became National Secretary of the Independent Judiciary (1981−1987). From 1988 to 1989 he served as Minister of Public Works in the De Mita Cabinet and is known for having set the limit of 110 km/h on the highway. In 1989 he was elected MEP for the PSDI and in 1992 he was elected Deputy in the National Parliament. In 1990 he was also elected Mayor of Pontremoli (he held office until 2004). On 30 April 1993 he was appointed Secretary of the PSDI. In 1994 he was newly elected MEP for his party. Ciriaco De Mita
Luigi Ciriaco De Mita (; 2 February 1928 – 26 May 2022) was an Italian politician who served as Prime Minister of Italy from April 1988 to July 1989. A member of the Christian Democracy (DC), De Mita served as its secretary and leader from May 1982 until February 1989, becoming one of the most influential politicians in the country, as well as one of the most prominent members of DC's left-wing. During his long-time career, he also served as Minister of Industry, Commerce and Crafts from 1973 to 1974, Minister of Foreign Trade from 1974 to 1976 and Minister for Interventions in the South from 1976 until 1979. He had been a member of the Chamber of Deputies for more than 40 years between 1963 and 2008 and also member of the European Parliament. Cosimo Maria Ferri (born April 17, 1971, in Pontremoli, Italy) is an Italian politician and former magistrate. He served as the Undersecretary of State for Justice in the Letta government, the Renzi government, and the Gentiloni government. Since 2018, he has been a member of the Italian Parliament as a deputy for the Democratic Party, and from September 2019, he has represented Italia Viva. 2001 Raid On Armando Diaz
The raid on the "Armando Diaz" School took place during the 27th G8 meeting in Genoa in 2001 in the district of Albaro, Genoa. The school building was the temporary headquarters of the Genoa Social Forum, led by Vittorio Agnoletto. A nearby building, housing the anti-globalization organization Indymedia and lawyers affiliated with the Genoa Social Forum, was also raided. On July 21, 2001, shortly before midnight, mobile divisions of the Polizia di Stato of Genoa, Rome and Milan attacked the buildings, with the operational support of some battalions of the Carabinieri. The police indiscriminately attacked the building's occupants, resulting in the arrest of 93 protesters; 61 were seriously injured and were taken to hospital, three of them were in a critical condition and one in a coma.
