Energoinvest (full name: Energoinvest, d.d. - Sarajevo) is a multidisciplinary engineering and energy company with headquarters in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. History Energoinvest was established as a small design office under the name of "Elektroprojekt" in 1951 with Emerik Blum at the top of the company. Energoinvest has developed into a modern European company whose business is based on the system engineering model of the realized project "turnkey". In 1958, Energoinvest was an export oriented company conducting business in markets in more than 20 countries from Mexico to Malaysia. By 1987, Energoinvest was the largest exporter in the former Yugoslavia in reaching its business peak turnover of one billion dollars with 42,000 employees. Emerik Blum
Emerik Blum (7 August 1911 – 24 June 1984) was a Bosnian Jewish businessman, philanthropist and the founder and first director of one of Southeast Europe's largest conglomerates, Energoinvest. He also served as the 26th mayor of Sarajevo from 1981 until 1983. Biography He was born to immigrant Hungarian Jewish parents on 7 August 1911 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was then a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Prague in 1939. After graduating from college, he returned to Sarajevo with his wife Matusija. He was arrested on 23 June 1941 and sent to Ustasha-run concentration camps, including Jasenovac, from where he escaped in 1944. In 1951 he founded and was the first director of Energoinvest, the largest company in ex-Yugoslavia, which continues working and is headquartered in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. ''Slobodna Bosna'' (; English: ''Free Bosnia'') was an investigative weekly news magazine based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was established in August 1995 as a print edition and in 2000 an online edition started to exist. In electrical engineering, a transmission line is a specialized cable or other structure designed to conduct electromagnetic waves in a contained manner. The term applies when the conductors are long enough that the wave nature of the transmission must be taken into account. This applies especially to radio-frequency engineering because the short wavelengths mean that wave phenomena arise over very short distances (this can be as short as millimetres depending on frequency). ''Poslovni dnevnik'' () is a Croatian daily business newspaper published in Zagreb. The newspaper, billed as the first Croatian business daily, was originally launched in March 2004. The print edition is published five times a week, Monday through Friday, and each issue is printed on peach-colored paper, in imitation of the ''Financial Times''. The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, commonly referred to as SFR Yugoslavia or simply as Yugoslavia, was a country in Central and Southeast Europe.
