Emily Deschenes
Emily Deschenes (born December 25, 2002) is a Canadian curler from Ottawa, Ontario. Career Deschenes skipped her rink to silver at the 2019 Canadian U18 Curling Championships in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Deschenes was selected to represent Canada in the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in Lausanne, Switzerland. The rink, skipped by Nathan Young, went undefeated in the round robin, before falling to Japan in the quarter finals. Following the mixed competition, Deschenes competed in Mixed Doubles with Oriol Gasto (Spain). Deschenes capped the 2020 season with a victory at the 2020 Ontario Winter Games. Deschenes entered the 2020–21 season with a new rink. In just their second event together at the Stu Sells Toronto Tankard, they defeated the Jennifer Jones rink 6–4 in a round robin game and finished third for the event. Jennifer Jones (curler)
Jennifer Judith Jones OM (born July 7, 1974) is a Canadian curler. She was the Olympic champion in curling as skip of the Canadian team at the 2014 Sochi Games. Jones is the first female skip to go through the Games undefeated. The only male skip to achieve this was fellow Canadian Kevin Martin in 2010. Jones and her squad were the first Manitoba based curling team to win an Olympic gold medal. They won the 2008 World Women's Curling Championship and were the last Canadian women's team to do so until Rachel Homan in 2017. She won a second world championship in 2018. Jones represented Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Jones has won the national championship a record tying six times, most recently during the 2018 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, equalling Colleen Jones for total Scotties championships. Lindsay Dubue
Lindsay Dubue () (born July 23, 1999) is a Canadian curler from Ottawa, Ontario. She currently plays second on Team Clancy Grandy. Career Dubue played in three Canadian Junior Curling Championships during her junior career in 2017, 2018 and 2020. In 2017, playing second for Hailey Armstrong, she won the silver medal after losing the final Alberta's Kristen Streifel. In both 2018 and 2020, she missed the playoffs playing for Emma Wallingford and Kira Brunton respectively. Also during the 2019–20 season, Team Brunton defeated Cathy Auld in the final of the 2019 Stu Sells Toronto Tankard on the World Curling Tour. Lesley Kaitlyn Lawes (born December 16, 1988) is a Canadian curler. Lawes was the long time third for the Jennifer Jones team that represented Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics where they won the gold medal. They were the first women's team to go through the Olympics undefeated and the first Manitoba based curling team to win at the Olympics. Lawes curled with John Morris in the mixed doubles event at the 2018 Winter Olympics where they won gold. This win made her and Morris the first Canadian curlers to win two Olympic gold medals, and Lawes was the first to win gold in two consecutive Olympics. Lawes was a member of the world champion team as a third at the 2018 Ford World Women's Curling Championship, where the team went through the event undefeated. The 2022 PointsBet Invitational curling tournament was held from September 21 to 25 at the Willie O'Ree Place in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The event featured thirty-two Canadian teams and was the first major event of the "Season of Champions" of the 2022–23 season. It was played in a single-elimination tournament with the winning men's and women's teams of Reid Carruthers and Jennifer Jones receiving $50,000 each. Qualification The top 12 ranked men's and women's Canadian teams on the revamped World Curling Federation's world team rankings qualified for the event. Taylour Stevens
Taylour Stevens (born August 31, 2000) is a Canadian curler from Chester, Nova Scotia. She is currently the alternate on Team Heather Smith. In 2022, she skipped her team to victory at the 2022 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Career Stevens was a member of the Cally Moore rink which represented Nova Scotia at the 2019 Canada Winter Games. They finished the round robin in fourth with a 6–4 record, qualifying them for the playoff round. They defeated Saskatchewan's Skylar Ackerman in the quarterfinals before being eliminated by eventual winners Ontario in the semifinal. They were able to pick up the bronze medal by defeating New Brunswick's Erica Cluff. 2022 Canadian Junior Curling Championships
The 2022 New Holland Canadian Junior Curling Championships was held from March 26 to April 1 at the Stratford Rotary Complex in Stratford, Ontario. The winning teams represented Canada at the 2023 World Junior Curling Championships in Füssen, Germany. This was the second time Stratford hosted the Canadian Junior Curling Championships. The first was in 2016 when Manitoba's Matt Dunstone and Nova Scotia's Mary Fay took home the titles. The 2022 event featured eighteen teams on both the men's and women's sides, each split into two pools of nine. The top three teams from each pool at the end of the round robin advanced to the playoff round.
