Emile Capgras
Emile Capgras (June 5, 1926 – August 14, 2014) was a Martinican politician and member of the Martinican Communist Party (PCM). He served as the President of the Regional Council of Martinique from March 29, 1992, until March 20, 1998. Capgras was born in Le Robert, Martinique, on June 5, 1926. He began his career as an apprentice boilmaker in 1940. Capgras joined the Martinican Communist Party in 1948 and become a member of the PCM Central Committee in 1968. He was elected as a Le Robert city councilor in 1983. He was later appointed Deputy Mayor of Le Robert from 1995 to 1997 under then Mayor Edouard de Lépine. Capgras largely retired from public life after leaving the Presidency of the Regional Council in 1998. Camille Darsières
Camille Darsières (born 19 May 1932 in Fort-de-France, Martinique; died 14 December 2006) was a socialist politician from Martinique who served as the Deputy for Martinique's 3rd constituency in the French National Assembly from 1993 to 2002. He was a member of the Martinican Progressive Party and succeeded the founder of that party, Aimé Césaire Aimé Fernand David Césaire (; ; 26 June 1913 – 17 April 2008) was a French poet, author, and politician. Alfred Marie-Jeanne
Alfred Marie-Jeanne (; born November 15, 1936 in Rivière-Pilote, Martinique) is a French politician, a leader in the Martinican Independence Movement (MIM) since 1978. He served as mayor of the commune of Rivière-Pilote from 1971 to 2000 and served as President of the Regional Council of Martinique from March 20, 1998 to March 22, 2010. Alfred Marie-Jeanne represented Martinique's 1st constituency in the French National Assembly from 2012 to 2017. He was succeeded in this constituency by Josette Manin. The Martinican Communist Party (french: Parti communiste martiniquais) is a political party in the France, French ''département d'outre-mer'' of Martinique. Georges Erichot is the general secretary of the party. The party was founded in September 1957 at the first conference of the Martinique federation of the French Communist Party. Amongst its founders was the communist MP Léopold Bissol. In the early 1960s PCM became the largest party in Martinique. In 1971 the party governed 4 municipalities.
