Emelie Petz
Emelie Petz (born 24 March 2003) is a German artistic gymnast and is a two-time junior national champion. Early life Petz was born in Backnang in 2003. She currently trains in Allmersbach im Tal. Gymnastics career Junior 2015–2016 In 2015 Petz competed at her first German Junior National Championships where she placed first amongst the AK12 division. During event finals she placed first on uneven bars and balance beam, second on floor exercise behind Sidney Hayn and fourth on vault. In 2016 she once again competed at the German Junior National Championships where she placed first amongst the other thirteen year olds. Additionally she placed first on vault, second on uneven bars, third on balance beam, and fifth on floor exercise. Backnang
Backnang (; swg, Bagene) is a town in Germany in the Bundesland of Baden-Württemberg, roughly northeast of Stuttgart. Its population has increased greatly over the past century, from 7,650 in 1900 to 35,761 in 2005. Backnang was ceded to Württemberg by the Baden ( Zähringer family) in 1325. 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held in Stuttgart, Germany from October 4–13, 2019. The championships took place at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle, and was the third time the city of Stuttgart hosted the event following the 1989 and 2007 editions, and the fifth time Germany hosted it. As of October 2, 92 federations registered gymnasts for the event with a total of 288 men and 259 women. Sam Mikulak of the United States and Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos of France won the Longines Prize for Elegance. Both mark a first for their respective countries: de Jesus dos Santos is the first gymnast from France to win this prize, and Mikulak is the first male gymnast from the United States to win one. Elisabeth Seitz
Elisabeth Seitz (born 4 November 1993) is a German artistic gymnast. She is the 2022 European champion and the 2018 World bronze medalist on the uneven bars. She is one of the only female gymnasts in history to compete the Def (full-twisting Gienger) release, and her eponymous skill, a full-twisting Maloney. Seitz has also had success in the individual all-around event, where she is the 2011 European silver medalist and an eight-time German national champion (2010–13, 2015, 2017–18, 2021). She is a three-time Olympian, representing Germany at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where she led her team to a sixth-place finish and placed fourth in the uneven bars final, and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Sophie Scheder
Sophie Celina Scheder (born 7 January 1997) is a German artistic gymnast. She is the 2016 Olympic bronze medalist on the uneven bars. Senior career 2013 Scheder competed at the 2013 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, where she finished 5th on the uneven bars. 2014 Scheder started the season competing at the American Cup held in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she placed 7th. A few weeks later she competed at the Cottbus Challenge Cup, where she won the bars title with a 14.925. At the 2014 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Sofia, she again made the bars final and placed 5th with a score of 14.733. Kim Bui
Kim Bui (born 20 January 1989) is a retired German artistic gymnast. She represented Germany at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympic Games. She is the 2009 and 2014 German National Champion and the 2011 European bronze medalist on the uneven bars. In her final competition, she was part of the first German team to win a European team medal. Early life and education Bui was born in Tübingen in 1989 to a Vietnamese mother and a Lao father. Bui studied technical biology at the University of Stuttgart. She graduated in 2015 and interned at the Fresenius Medical Care in the International Marketing and Medicine division. Sarah Voss (born 21 October 1999) is a German artistic gymnast. She represented Germany at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She is the 2019 and 2022 German all-around national champion and competed in the 2018 and 2019 World Championships. She was part of the bronze medal-winning German team at the 2022 European Championships. Personal life Voss was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany in 1999. Gymnastics at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 7 to 16 October at the Parque Olímpico de la Juventud#Olympic Park, America Pavilion in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Qualification Summary Acrobatic Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) can enter a maximum of 1 team of 2 athletes. As hosts, Argentina was given a team to compete, causing a reduction to the number of teams qualified from the Americas. The remaining 11 teams were to be decided at the 2018 Acrobatics World Championships. Host Argentina declined the quota while no nation from Oceania competed. The United States declined the quota, and thus the two places were reallocated to Asia and Europe.
