Elliot Walker
Elliot Walker is a British sculptor and glassblower and the winner of the second season of the Netflix series, '' Blown Away''. Education He graduated from Bangor University in Wales with a degree in psychology. He then studied glassmaking in the Historic Glass Quarter in Stourbridge. Career He has been working as an artist since 2009 and works mostly with molten glass using the Massello technique. He worked for Peter Layton as part of his London glass-blowing studio team for eight years before creating his own space to work in Hertfordshire. Walker opened his first solo show at Messums Wiltshire, at Tisbury on January 26, 2021. Called ''Plenty'', the show reflects on the culture of excess through sculptures. ''Blown Away'' is a Canadian reality glassblowing competition television series that premiered on the Canadian channel Makeful before a subsequent release on the streaming platform Netflix. The 10-episode first season was released on July 12, 2019. The series is filmed in Canada and is produced by Marblemedia. Casting for a second season was announced in November 2019. Season 2 was released on Netflix in January 2021. A four-episode ''Christmas'' series was released in November 2021. Season 3 premiered July 22, 2022. The contestants on the show are 10 glassblowers. Messum's is an art gallery in Bury Street, St. James's, London, with a branch in Marlow, Buckinghamshire and an associated gallery in Tisbury, Wiltshire. The Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers (Glass Sellers' Company) is one of the livery companies of the City of London. The company received its royal charter from King Charles II in 1664. Its role was to regulate the glass selling and pot-making industries within the City of London, and to ensure quality and fair trade. Aspiring traders in glass were apprenticed to a master who was a member of the Glass Sellers Company.
