Elisabeth Mooij
Elisabeth Mooij, also known by her married name Elisabeth Ghijben ( Amsterdam, 1712 – Amsterdam, 1759), was a Dutch actress. She was among the biggest stars in the Netherlands in her time. Elisabeth Mooij was the daughter of the wine maker Willem Mooij and Sara Ledeboer. In 1731, she married the oyster dealer Robbert Ghijben and together they had three sons and two daughters but two sons died at a young age. She was employed at the Amsterdamse Schouwburg theatre in 1743–1759. The Stadsschouwburg (; Dutch: ''Municipal Theatre'') of Amsterdam is the name of a theatre building at the Leidseplein in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The building is in the neo-Renaissance style dating back to 1894, and is the former home of the National Ballet and Opera. History Rederijkerskamers The first 'rederijkers' (Dutch orators) appeared at the end of the 15th century in Amsterdam. Anna Maria de Bruyn (ca. 1708, Zwolle – buried 28 May 1744, Amsterdam) was a Dutch stage actress and ballet dancer. She was born to the actors Jan de Bruyn (died 1749), and Elizabeth Bleeck (1684–1751). She was active at the theaters of Amsterdam in 1719–1744. Originally employed with her family, she was given an individual contract in 1727. Cornelia Ghijben ( Amsterdam, 1733 – Amsterdam, c 1790), also known by her married name Miss Bouhon, was a Dutch actress and singer. She was known for her "stately beauty" and often received favorable reviews from contemporary critics and became a well-paid stage performer in the Netherlands in the 18th century. Cornelia Bouhon (1757–1823) was a Dutch stage actress, ballet dancer and opera singer for 30 years (1766–1797). She was known for her roles as the young heroine. Johanna Wattier
Johanna Cornelia Wattier (Rotterdam, 13 April 1762 - Voorburg, 23 April 1827) was an 18th-century actress from the Northern Netherlands, known for her performances in Amsterdam. She made her debut at 15 in 1778 in Rotterdam and in 1780 at the Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam. After a few years she became the latter's main actress.
