El Pozo Railway Station
''El Pozo Station'' is a Cercanías station in Vallecas neighborhood (Madrid). It was opened on July 15, 1992 and it is located in El Pozo area. It belongs to lines C-2 and C-7 of Cercanías Madrid. On the morning of March 11, 2004, a double-decker commuter train exploded with two bombs at this station, thus killing 67 people. Vallecas
Vallecas was a municipality of Spain that disappeared as such in 1950, when its annexation to the Municipality of Madrid was effectuated. Nowadays it is a large neighborhood of Madrid composed of two districts: Puente de Vallecas (population 240,917) and Villa de Vallecas (population 65,162). 2004 Madrid Train Bombings
The 2004 Madrid train bombings (also known in Spain as 11M) were a series of coordinated, nearly simultaneous bombings against the Cercanías Madrid, Cercanías commuter train system of Madrid, Spain, on the morning of 11 March 2004—three days before 2004 Spanish general election, Spain's general elections. The explosions killed 193 people and injured around 2,000. The bombings constituted the deadliest Terrorism, terrorist attack carried out in the history of Spain and the deadliest in Europe since Pan Am Flight 103, 1988.
