Eirias High School
Ysgol Eirias, (English: Eirias School) is a secondary school situated in Colwyn Bay, in Conwy county borough, North Wales. The school has approximately 1600 pupils and over 120 teachers and staff. The school’s name is derived from its location, the grounds of Eirias Park. The current headteacher is Sarah Sutton, taking over from Phil McTague in 2017, who took over from Clive Hampton in 2006. School Life Houses Ysgol Eirias has four houses. The houses are each named after a Prince of Wales adjoined to the name of a bird. Glyndwr Eagles, Llewelyn Hawks, Madog Kites and Gwynedd Falcons. Students are assigned to a house when joining the school based on their form group, and stay in that house throughout their school career. Each house is assigned colour, yellow, blue, red and green respectively for Eagles, Hawks, Kites and Falcons. There are many Inter-house competitions for sports and art. Colwyn Bay
Colwyn Bay ( cy, Bae Colwyn) is a town, community and seaside resort in Conwy County Borough on the north coast of Wales overlooking the Irish Sea. It lies within the historic county of Denbighshire. Conwy
Conwy (, ), previously known in English as Conway, is a walled market town, community and the administrative centre of Conwy County Borough in North Wales. The walled town and castle stand on the west bank of the River Conwy, facing Deganwy on the east bank. The town formerly lay in Gwynedd and prior to that in Caernarfonshire. The community, which also includes Deganwy and Llandudno Junction, had a population of 14,753 at the 2011 census. Eirias Park
Eirias Park ( cy, Parc Eirias) is a public park in Colwyn Bay, Conwy County Borough, Wales, was once described as "The park by the sea". The park has a sports complex, including the Eirias Stadium and Colwyn Leisure Centre. History The park was created when the local council purchased on 12 April, 1921 and the remainder of the park in 1929. The official opening of the playing fields took place on 27 September, 1923. Situated within the park is the Colwyn Leisure Centre which was opened by Princess Margaret in 1981. Facilities include a six-lane 25-metre swimming/leisure pool with various water features and a separate water slide and the main sports hall. There is also a fitness suite, health suite, sauna, steam room and warm spa pool.
