Einstellung
Einstellung are a krautrock/shoegaze band from Birmingham, England. Biography Einstellung formed in 2004. In 2006, their debut album, ''Wings Of Desire'', was released on CD on Chatterbox Records. At the same time, "Sleep Easy Mr Parker", a 28-minute, one-track CD single was released on Bearos. Both releases and their loud, heavy shows garnered them much attention (the unusually long, trance-inducing, krautrocker "Sleep Easy Mr Parker" appeared on the BBC website). In 2007, Einstellung presented 'Das Land Ohne Musik' a concert featuring acoustic versions of songs from their ''Wings of Desire'' album with strings and piano parts added by pianist and composer Rich Batsford. A live album of the concert was released in early 2018. Later in 2007, they participated in the Project X Presents event at the Rainbow Warehouse, Digbeth, including another collaboration with Rich Batsford which also featured Islamic vocal group Aashiq al-Rasul. Rich Batsford
Richard William Batsford (born 25 October 1969) is an English pianist, composer and singer-songwriter. He is a recording artist and a frequent performer, initially in and around his birthplace in Birmingham, England, and more recently in Adelaide, Australia, presenting concerts featuring original solo piano music with a classical influence. Batsford is also a co-creator of creative network Project X Presents and Musituality, a platform for musicians of various faiths to perform together. Project X Presents
Project X Presents was a collaborative arts network based in Birmingham, England, active from around 2004 to 2009. The group produced a series of themed performance events in the city which they christened "omnimedia experiences". Origins The network was centred on Rich Batsford, Marc Reck, Anne-Marie Pope and Ant Ramm, who become friends during shared participation in various creative endeavours including the Fierce! festival and the music and party scene based in and around the Birmingham suburb of Moseley. Their intention was to create a new form of live event enabling each participant to further their own practice, as well as to learn from engaging with other disciplines. Godflesh
Godflesh are an English industrial metal band from Birmingham. The group formed in 1982 under the title Fall of Because but did not release any complete music until 1988 when Justin Broadrick (guitar, vocals and programming) and G. C. Green ( bass) renamed the band and decided to use a drum machine for percussion. Melding heavy metal with industrial music and later with electronic music and dub, Godflesh's sound is widely regarded as a foundational influence on other industrial metal and post-metal acts and as significant to both experimental and extreme metal. The band signed to Earache Records in the late 1980s and released their debut album '' Streetcleaner'' (1989) to contemporary and lasting acclaim. Neu! (; German for "New!"; styled in block capitals) were a West German krautrock band formed in Düsseldorf in 1971 by Klaus Dinger and Michael Rother following their departure from Kraftwerk. The group's albums were produced by Conny Plank, who has been regarded as the group's "hidden member". They released three albums in their initial incarnation—''Neu!'' (1972), ''Neu! 2'' (1973), and ''Neu! 75'' (1975)—before disbanding in 1975. They briefly reunited in the mid-1980s. Though Neu! had minimal commercial success during their existence, the band are retrospectively considered a central act of West Germany's 1970s krautrock movement.
