Project X Presents
Project X Presents was a collaborative arts network based in Birmingham, England, active from around 2004 to 2009. The group produced a series of themed performance events in the city which they christened "omnimedia experiences". Origins The network was centred on Rich Batsford, Marc Reck, Anne-Marie Pope and Ant Ramm, who become friends during shared participation in various creative endeavours including the Fierce! festival and the music and party scene based in and around the Birmingham suburb of Moseley. Their intention was to create a new form of live event enabling each participant to further their own practice, as well as to learn from engaging with other disciplines. The show would involve and engage the audience at different levels, leading them on a potentially transformative journey. ''Bearded'' is a British bi-monthly music magazine that covers the independent music industry, reviewing artists who are either unsigned or signed to independent record labels. History ''Bearded'' was founded by Gareth Main, a former editor of the trade publication Golf Course News International, with the aim of providing nationwide coverage for independent artists. The first issue of ''Bearded'' was released on 14 August 2007 with an illustration of actor and musician Matt Berry on the cover. The cover design was minimal, featuring only the original ''Bearded'' logo with no content or other information. This design continued through the first 18 months of the magazine, until ''Bearded'' relaunched on 29 January 2009, after which the logo was changed. Saul Steinburg
Saul (; he, , ; , ; ) was, according to the Hebrew Bible, the first monarch of the United Kingdom of Israel. His reign, traditionally placed in the late 11th century BCE, supposedly marked the transition of Israel and Judah from a scattered tribal society to organized statehood. The historicity of Saul and the United Kingdom of Israel is not universally accepted, as what is known of both comes from the Hebrew Bible. According to the text, he was anointed as king of the Israelites by Samuel, and reigned from Gibeah. John Gordillo
John Gordillo is a director and former comedian. He has directed and produced live shows, specials and TV series for Eddie Izzard, Reginald D Hunter, Ross Noble, Josh Widdicombe, Dylan Moran, Michael Mcintyre, Mark Steel, Shappi Khorsandi, Seann Walsh, Shazia Mirza and Sean Lock among others. Gordillo performed stand-up from 1996 to 2000 before he co-created & hosted two series of ''The RDA'' aka ''The Recommended Daily Allowance'', a talk show for BBC Three. Gordillo returned to stand-up in 2006. In 2016, his ''Work-in-Progress'' stand-up set won Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival. Gordillo's solo work includes the 2009 production of ''Fuckonomics'' which received mixed reviews. Chris Tye
Chris Tye is an English singer-songwriter born in Nuneaton, now based in Birmingham, who took part in the BBC Music Live in Birmingham Event in 2015, hosted by Jo Whiley. His first album ''Somewhere Down The Line'' was released in 2006 with the artwork being designed by Cally Callomon. In 2011, he released ''Matchbox Stand'' which he recorded in Brighton with Tim Bidwell ( Kate Walsh). Since 2006 he has played support to a number of acts including Amy Winehouse, Fionn Regan, Joan As Police Woman, Bic Runga, Teddy Thompson, Stephen Fretwell, Robert Post and Ben Thomson. St Mary's Church, Moseley
St Mary's Church, Moseley is a Grade II listed parish church in the Church of England located in Moseley, Birmingham. It is now part of a united benefice with St Anne's Church, Moseley. The War Memorial in the South-East corner of the Churchyard, facing Oxford Road, is unusual in that it depicts Christ upon the cross in carved stone. We've Got a Fuzzbox and We're Gonna Use It!!, often shortened to Fuzzbox, are a British alternative rock group. Formed in Birmingham in 1985, the all-female then quartet originally consisted of Vix (Vickie Perks), Magz (Maggie Dunne), Jo Dunne and Tina O'Neill. The band's name was shortened to Fuzzbox for the U.S. release of their first album. They disbanded in 1990 after releasing two studio albums, and reunited in 2010 for a series of concerts. Mixmaster Morris
Mixmaster Morris (born Morris Gould, 30 December 1965) is an English electronica DJ and underground musician who has also recorded as The Irresistible Force. His work in the 1990s blended ambient music and chill-out influences with UK dance styles. Life and career Morris Gould was born in Brighton, Sussex, England, but grew up in Lincolnshire and was educated at Millfield in Somerset, and King's College London. Subsource are a British electronic music group. Their current sound is a fusion of dubstep and punk/metal genres and their lyrics have a theme of social commentary. The group has maintained a strong presence on the UK festival circuit due to the nature of the combination of dance music and live elements and they have consistently received critical acclaim for their live shows. Gig reviewers have commonly described their live shows as being energetic and displaying ferocity.
