Einfelder See
Einfelder See is a lake in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. At an elevation of 26.79 m, its surface area is 1.78 km². It is located in the northern suburb of Neumünster and in the Kreis Rendsburg-Eckernförde. The lake is located on a water divide of the rivers Stör and Eider Eiders () are large seaducks in the genus ''Somateria''. The three extant species all breed in the cooler latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere. The down feathers of eider ducks, and some other ducks and geese, are used to fill pillows and quilt .... Most of the water originates from groundwater and precipitation, only a small portion reaches the lake from the adjacent Dosenmoor. Dosenmoor
The Dosenmoor is a regenerative and, in places, preserved raised bog in the north German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It lies near the town of Neumünster east of the village of Einfeld and covers an area of 521 hectares. The almost circular bog lies on the watershed between the River Eider, which flows northwards, and the Stör, which flows towards the south. Vegetation The bog, which has been used for centuries, no longer exhibits the typical character of a living raised bog over much of its area. Only in some areas are there the remnants of peat moss, cottongrass and cross-leaved heathland and bog-rosemary. Neumünster
Neumünster () is a city in the middle of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. With more than 79,000 registered inhabitants, it is the fourth-largest municipality in Schleswig-Holstein (behind Kiel, Lübeck and Flensburg). History The city was first formally mentioned as ''Wippendorp im Gau Faldera'' in 1127. In that year, the Bishop Vicelinus was sent there by the Archbishop of Bremen to perform missionary work. The Eider (german: Die Eider; da, Ejderen; Latin: ''Egdor'' or ''Eidora'') is the longest river in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. The river starts near Bordesholm and reaches the southwestern outskirts of Kiel on the shores of the Baltic Sea, but flows to the west, ending in the North Sea. The lower part of the Eider was used as part of the Eider Canal until that canal was replaced by the modern Kiel Canal.
