Eileen Spinelli
Eileen Spinelli (née Mesi; born August 16, 1942) is an American author of children's books and poetry. Biography She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She wanted to be a writer from a young age. She grew up in Secane, Pennsylvania attended high school in Rose Valley, Pennsylvania. She won a poetry writing contest when she was in high school. She began writing for children in 1979, when her own children were older and more independent. She writes both prose and in poetry. Most of her books are picture books, but she has also written novels for children. Her husband is author Jerry Spinelli. Betsy Reilly Lewin (born May 12, 1937) is an American illustrator from Clearfield, Pennsylvania. She studied illustration at Pratt Institute. After graduation, she began designing greeting cards. She began writing and illustrating stories for children's magazines and eventually children's books. Jane Dyer
Jane Dyer (born 1949) is an American author and illustrator of more than fifty books, including Amy Krouse Rosenthal's ''Cookies: Bite-Size Life Lessons, Cookies'' series and Jeanne Birdsall's ''Lucky and Squash''. Background Dyer grew up in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She used to teach, write, and illustrate textbooks before she began illustrating children's books full-time. She was encouraged to begin illustrating by her students and their parents. She says she draws inspiration from the books of her childhood and the clothes her mother preserved from her own childhood, which Dyer liked to dress up in as a young girl. Hideko Takahashi is a children's book illustrator. She was born in Osaka, Japan and educated in at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan. In 1990, she moved to Los Angeles to attend Otis College of Art and Design. Her work is included in Cooper Hewitt Museum. She did her a majority of schooling and education life in Kyoto, Japan, until later she moved to the U.S. in 1990 to attend Otis.
