Eduard Kirs
Eduard Kirs (22 November 1887 – 17 April 1963) was an Estonian music teacher, trade unionist and politician. He was a member of the I Riigikogu, representing the Estonian Social Democratic Workers' Party. He was a member of the Riigikogu since 1 November 1922. He replaced Johannes Lehman. Kirs was born in Tartu and studied piano and organ at the R. Griving School of Music. He played the organ and violin in churches and community centres. At the beginning of Estonia's independence, he began to organize trade unions, was the secretary of the Tartu Central Council of Trade Unions. Estonian Social Democratic Workers' Party
The Estonian Social Democratic Workers' Party ( et, Eesti Sotsiaaldemokraatiline Tööliste Partei) was a political party in Estonia between 1917 and 1925. The leaders of the party, founded on platforms of patriotism, Estonian independence, and social justice, made a major contribution to the drafting of the first (1920) Constitution of Estonia. History Social democracy in Estonia was born at the beginning of the 20th century. Estonian social democracy was influenced by western European ideas of social democracy as well as by Russian ideals. During the Russian Revolution of 1905 social democratic ideas spread and Estonian social democrats formed their party in the summer of 1905 in Tartu. Johannes Lehman
Juhan Leeman (born 1872), also known as Juhan Lehman, Johannes Leeman and Johannes Lehman, was an Estonian politician and educator. Leeman was born on 12 December 1872 in Pajusi Parish (now Põltsamaa Parish), Kreis Fellin. According to the ''Estonian Biographical Database'' maintained by the Estonian Literary Museum, he was educated in Põltsamaa and subsequently attended a Teacher's Seminar. From 1891 to 1903, he taught at village schools, then worked as a telegraphist at Voldi railway station until 1904. He was arrested by the Russian authorities in 1907 in connection with the murder of Baron Otto von Budberg and was imprisoned in Siberia between 1910 and 1916.
