Eduard Daniel Leopold Van Ingen
Eduard Daniel Leopold baron van Ingen (born 22 June 1799 – 16 March 1833) was a Dutch colonial administrator on the Gold Coast. He was interim commander from 1832 until his death on 16 March 1833. Biography Eduard van Ingen was born in Zutphen to baron Antoni Lucas van Ingen, a captain in the Dutch army, and Elisabeth Louise Heckers. Eduard van Ingen was appointed assistant on the Dutch Gold Coast by royal decree of 8 July 1828. He was promoted to resident on 1 July 1829. Van Ingen became acting commander of the Dutch Gold Coast after the previous acting commander Jan Tieleman Jacobus Cremer died in office on 1 July 1832. Van Ingen took office on 2 July 1832. William I (Willem Frederik, Prince of Orange-Nassau; 24 August 1772 – 12 December 1843) was a Prince of Orange, the King of the Netherlands and Grand Duke of Luxembourg. Jan Tieleman Jacobus Cremer (born 28 March 1795 – 1 July 1832) was a Dutch colonial administrator on the Gold Coast. He was interim commander from 1832 until his death on 1 July. Biography Jan Cremer was born in Middelburg to Johannes Bernardus Cremer and Elisabeth Johanna Bogaerds. He was originally employed as a clerk in his native Middelburg, before opting for a career in the colonial administration. He was appointed assistant on the Dutch Gold Coast by royal decree of 14 January 1826. In 1828, he succeeded Jacobus van der Breggen Paauw as bookkeeper, secretary, fiscal and cashier. Martinus Swarte
Martinus Swarte (born 13 May 1813 – 8 April 1835) was a Dutch colonial administrator on the Gold Coast. He was interim commander in 1833. Biography Martinus Swarte was born in Amsterdam to Franciscus Swarte from Papenburg and Anna Sophia van der Aa from Haarlem. At age 16, on 2 March 1830, Martinus Swarte was appointed assistant on the Dutch Gold Coast. In March 1833, he became acting commander, after the previous acting commander Eduard Daniel Leopold van Ingen had died. He was relieved of his duties on 10 May 1833, when Christiaan Lans arrived from the Netherlands to replace him. At the end of 1833, he went on leave to Europe, but shipwrecked on the way home. Zutphen () is a city and municipality located in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands. Kwadwo Akyampon
Kwadwo Akyampon (C. 1767 - 1832) was an agent of Osei Bonsu who acted as representative to both the Fante government at Elmina and the Dutch colonial officials at that location. In this position he essential acted as the Ashanti Empire governor over El Mina. In 1828 Akyampon commanded a contingent of forces in the defense of Elmina against attacks by Fante, Denkyera and Wasa forces.
