Ellettsville, Indiana
Ellettsville is a town in Richland Township, Monroe County, Indiana, United States. The population was 6,865 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Bloomington, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. Ellettsville is the starting point for the Hilly Hundred, a two-day bicycle tour. History Ellettsville was platted in 1837. In 1818, Edward Ellett, Sr, and his wife Eleanor settled in what is now known as Ellettsville with their four minor sons: David, Richard, Johnston and Barton. The first winter, they lived in a three-sided log cabin they built. Also settling that year were their two eldest sons, William and Samuel, with their wives and families. Within a few years daughters Sarah, Phoebe and Nancy settled in the area with their husbands. Richland-Bean Blossom Community School Corporation (RBB) is a public school corporation located in northwestern Monroe County, Indiana, USA. RBB and Monroe County Community School Corporation are the only two school corporations serving the county. RBB serves Ellettsville, Stinesville, Beanblossom Township, and Richland Township. The Richland-Bean Blossom Metropolitan School District was formed in 1963 and became the Richland-Bean Blossom Community School Corporation in 1965. The district is accredited by AdvancED. Western Indiana Conference
The Western Indiana Conference is the name of two IHSAA-sanctioned conferences based in West Central Indiana. The first formed as an eight-team league that formed as a basketball league in 1944 as the West Central Conference. The league started expanding in 1945 and changed its name to the Western Indiana Conference. With consolidation forcing many membership changes in the 1970s (including all the Terre Haute public schools), the conference folded at four members in 1983.
