Ecuador National Rugby League Team
The Ecuador national rugby league team (''Spanish: rugby league equipo nacional de Ecuador'') represents Ecuador in rugby league. They made their debut at the first ever Latino Sevens on 17 October 2015 against Peru. History The sport of rugby league is at its inception and earliest stage of growth in Ecuador. However, efforts are being put in place to increase the exposure and participation of rugby league in Central and South America through the Latin Heat Rugby League. In April 2015, Latin Heat volunteer and ambassador Matthew Brown created a Facebook page called "Ecuador Rugby XIII" to help create interest in starting Rugby League in Ecuador. He also lived in the country for 6 months. While there, he helped create a partnership between Touch Rugby Ecuador and Ecuador Rugby XIII. National Rugby League Teams
This is a complete list of clubs that have competed in the first-grade Rugby League football competition in Australia that began with the New South Wales Rugby Football League (NSWRFL) competition in 1908. The NSWRL (having dropped the word Football from their name in the 1980s) ran the competition until the end of the 1994 season, when the sport's national governing body, the Australian Rugby League (ARL), took over. However a rival competition was being planned and the only season of the News Limited-owned Super League competition (SL) was held in 1997. The two competitions were reunited as the National Rugby League (NRL) in time for the start of the 1998 season. The NRL was established as a company owned in partnership between the ARL and News Limited. The Colombian national rugby league team represents Colombia in the sport of rugby league. History The first rugby league team representing Colombia was organized by the Australian-based Latin Heat Rugby League organization in 2016, with a team of Colombian expats taking part in various competitions and small-sided matches against other teams representing Latin American nations.
