Drink Up Buttercup
Drink Up Buttercup was a band from Philadelphia, PA. Band members were James Harvey (vocals), Mike Cammarata (drums), Farzad Houshiarnejad (organs, bass, guitar, percussion) and Ben Money (bass, organs, percussion). The band came together in Bucks County, PA in late 2007, making their debut performance at a cigar parlor. Drink Up Buttercup released their first 7" single, "Mr. Pie Eyes" on the UK label Make Mine Music. Following this were sets at CMJ Music Marathon and South by Southwest. The band's second single, "Farewell Captain," was released in April 2009 on Kanine Records. The song earned the band praise from Stereogum. Drink Up Buttercup's debut album ''Born and Thrown on a Hook'' was released March 23, 2010 on Yep Roc Records. Yep Roc Records is an American independent record label based in Hillsborough, North Carolina, and owned by Redeye Distribution. ''Make Mine Music'' is a 1946 American animated musical anthology film produced by Walt Disney and released by RKO Radio Pictures. It is the eighth Disney feature animated film, released on April 20, 1946. During World War II, much of Walt Disney's staff was drafted into the army, and those that remained were called upon by the U.S. government to make training and propaganda films. As a result, the studio was littered with unfinished story ideas. CMJ Holdings Corp. is a music events and online media company, originally founded in 1978, which ran a website, hosted an annual festival in New York City, and published two magazines, ''CMJ New Music Monthly'' and ''CMJ New Music Report''. South By Southwest
South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and Convention (meeting), conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. Kanine Records is an independent record label based in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York started at the end of 2002 by Lio and Kay Kanine. Rusty Santos is a record producer and musician based in Los Angeles. He is known for producing, recording, mixing and/or mastering records like Animal Collective’s ''Sung Tongs'' and the reissue of ''Danse Manatee'', Panda Bear’s ''Person Pitch'', Born Ruffians’ ''Red, Yellow & Blue'', Owen Pallett's ''Heartland'' & '' In Conflict'', DJ Rashad's '' Welcome to the Chi'', Dawn of Midi's " Dysnomia", and many more.
