Diesel Loco Shed, Vatva is an engine shed located in Vatva, Gujarat in India. It is located north-east of falling under Ahmedabad railway division. The shed caters to the need of freight as well as passenger trains. It is one of the three diesel loco sheds in the Western Railway zone, others are Ratlam and Sabarmati . History It was established on 11 November 1981 with capacity holding of 15 locomotives, but currently it holds around 126 locomotives, WDM-3D, WDG-3A, WDM-3A, WDS-6 and WDS-4B class. It received its first locomotive, a WDM-2, from Diesel Loco Shed, Ratlam. Major and minor schedules of Diesel Locomotives are carried out in the shed. The shed is ISO: ISO 9002:1994, ISO 9001:2000, ISO 9001:2008 certified. The motive power depot (MPD) or locomotive depot, or traction maintenance depot (TMD), is the place where locomotives are usually housed, repaired and maintained when not being used. Mhow Diesel Loco Shed is a metre-gauge engine shed located in Mhow, in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is located to south of Mhow railway station, it falls under the Ratlam railway division of Western Railway. It is the smallest of the three locomotive sheds in the Western Railway zone. The Indian locomotive class WDS-6 is a diesel-electric locomotive used by the Indian Railways mainly for shunting and also for performing departmental duties. The Indian locomotive class WDM-3D is a class of diesel-electric locomotive that was developed in 2003 by Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), Varanasi for Indian Railways. Diesel Loco Shed, Sabarmati is an locomotive maintenance shed located in Sabarmati, Gujarat in India. It is located east of Sabarmati falling under Ahmedabad railway division.
