Danilo Pereira da Silva (born 7 April 1999) is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Eredivisie club Feyenoord. Club career Ajax Born in São Paulo, Danilo represented Portuguesa, Corinthians, Ponte Preta and Vasco da Gama as a youth before switching to the academy of Santos in 2016. On 7 September 2017, he signed with Dutch club AFC Ajax after agreeing to a five-year deal. He was assigned to the Jong Ajax (the reserve team) and Ajax under-19. On 25 March 2018, Danilo made his debut for Jong Ajax in a 1–0 defeat against Jong AZ. He scored his first goal for Jong Ajax on 10 September 2018 in the game, in Alkmaar, against Jong AZ. Twente (loan) On 14 August 2020, Danilo joined fellow Eredivisie side Twente on a season-long loan deal. Feyenoord Rotterdam () is a Dutch professional football club in Rotterdam, which plays in the Eredivisie, the top tier in Dutch football. The KNVB Beker (; en, KNVB Cup), branded as the TOTO KNVB Beker for sponsorship reasons, is a competition in the Netherlands organized by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) since 1898. It was based on the format of the English FA Cup. Outside the Netherlands, it is often referred to as the Dutch Cup. 2020–21 Eredivisie
The 2020–21 Eredivisie was the 65th season of the Eredivisie since its establishment in 1955. The season began on 12 September 2020 and concluded on 16 May 2021. On 2 February 2021, the KNVB announced that effective immediately clubs would be allowed to make an extra substitution for suspected concussions as part of an IFAB sanctioned trial. This trial will allow teams to make up to six substitutions across four breaks in the match instead of five substitutions across three breaks in the match. 2019–20 AFC Ajax Season
During the 2019–20 season, Ajax participated in the Eredivisie, the KNVB Cup, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League and the Johan Cruyff Shield. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on 21 April, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced that events that require a permit are forbidden until 1 September. This meant that football matches were also not allowed, resulting in the end of the 2019–20 Eredivisie season. As a result, the KNVB decided on 24 April to maintain the current league positions but not to appoint a champion. Since Ajax was in first place on 8 March (after the last completed round), it was awarded the highest 2020–21 UEFA Champions League spot without being crowned as national champion.
